First image is Metalman's AK, second is mine (old picture, Ive weathered it now)[/QUOTE]
That's not what I meant. I meant the guys who attach it to their vest, not for use buying it from some store, wrapping your AK, and shoving it in a drawer for the rest of eternity.
I make bracelets and watch bands out of paracord a lot. You can do most anything with it. Lots of people on my field use them for zipper pulls and shoelaces.
metal man, what brand gp-whatever is that?

For sake of fucking example, there are a lot of real military things that serve no point in airsoft.
um
i use my spade to dig trenches to hide in and my zip ties and glow sticks to make pretty necklaces
i kill people with my spade
i just go out onto the field with my bare hands and strangle people
they usually call hit before i CHOKE THE LIFE OUT OF THEM
In the winter, I create forts with my spade and play airsoft, such as when we had like 4 feet of snow last year
i kill spade with my people

wow thats better than a team we have here, i think i could shoot them with a real gun before they call hit

It doesn't seem like anyone is getting your point :v:.
Yes guys, we know there are uses for paracord, but not on the field during an airsoft skirmish. I don't think you're going to sit down and start weaving a bracelet are you?

Dude, I use paracord all the time on the field.
Makeshift slings, booby trap wires, restraining prisoners, etc.

Paracord was a terrible example. Too lazy to think of something else real steel that airsofters don't need but carry anyway.
Canned food, those stupid glowing sticks, spades, helmets (they're not really necessary, they're mostly for the looks. Almost no one uses helmets around here to play, only for pictures), I'm pretty sure some people even carry gas masks and such.

Geez, what do you guys play, paintball? I have MREs and shit with me most of the time on the field. Combat doesn't stop for you to go eat chow.
Glowsticks are useful as hell at night games. People use them to mark mortar targets or important objectives or points of interest at our games.
Spades are pretty handy for planting mines, but thats about it.
No we also play Airsoft, but we dont start eating in the middle of the game. We usually play for a couple of hours, then have a half-hour rest or whatever to stock up, eat something, maybe move to another terrain, then we keep playing. Sometimes we carry a protein bar or a chocolate or whatever to eat during play but from that to MREs... different style of playing I guess.
Maybe glowsticks are good for night games but that don't justify carrying them in yo loadout when you play in the day. I mean they're not a big problem and they look cool and whatever but that's the point of what we're discussing, shit we carry only because they look cool. Unless you plan to be kidnapped and then escaping during the night or whatever I don't see the practical utility of those sticks.
Spades I just find useless as a whole because we (at least here) don't dig trenches and such.

Try marking a target at night without a tracer unit, its almost impossible without a glowstick. Not to mention that if you get shot and are walking back to respawn, its a million times easier to use a red glowstick than a killrag.
Our games tend to last a whole day or two though, so yeah, different play style.
I could mark a target without a glowstick. It's called an IR laser, or a visible laser.

Its really easy to trace those back to the source though (well, not the IR laser, but not enough people have NODs to make that effective).
Plus a glowstick stays there on the ground, so its much easier to dial in my rangefinder on it so I can sight the mortar.
Glow sticks are a good idea for those bunkers near me, thanks.

This is how I play, basically. Taking frequent breaks and all. But I do carry around some snacks on my person, water once in awhile. Helmets are useful if you have Comms to hook up to them.
I'll be trying to get a helmet, but only because it'll go with the loadouts I'm doing.
A woodland boonie just doesn't look right in an urban TF141 impression. Or my up-and-coming field loadout...
What are you guys talking about? I don't need tools. I just punch the shit out of some trees and make a few houses.
I play too much Minecraft.
Real men play without fortifications.
Poor attempt at inside humor aside, we actually have almost no choice here. Up until recently, anyway, the local fields were a little bit sparse and boring. They only bring the props out at the Winery when I'm conveniently not there, and Hill 559 is way too big to really do much with props. Ghost Mountain, maybe, but that makes everyone's feet hurt.
When I play overnight games, there aren't really any breaks, if you want to cook some hot chocolate or some food you have to do it in the game. There's always that chance the insurgents will come by to try and take your bacon.
I made a new loadout by putting on random stuff I saw. Who wants to see it?
All of my loudouts consist of putting on random stuff, go for it.
I want to play game with Stupideye and Timebomb :(
I think we all do.
Come to Western NY, I would love to see some facepunchers 'round these parts :buddy:
