I'm lucky to have a long driveway, they have to back the whole truck up like 200ft then drop the packages off nicely at our gate
Wow okay thanks for not delivering the box my broken Xbox was supposed to be picked up in, and instead come to my house WHEN I HAVE NO BOX.
Wow.
Murder whoever came up with the "Logistics" song.
Holy FUCK it's more annoying than Rebecca Black.
You do know your not working for UPS but for another company right?

i wish i was made of money
My dad has worked at UPS for like 30 years and he is not nearly as enthusiastic as OP...
My older sister works at UPS, I may go work for them after classes are done with.
She tells me that people use big boxes to stand on, little boxes as hackysacks and some people 'loose' boxes and open them up. Be careful if your sending something, wrap it plainly and DO NOT write anything like "Electronics" or "Valuable" on it
My dad has worked at UPS for like 30 years and he is not nearly as enthusiastic as OP...
Well, after 30 years of having to put up with other people's shit...
...
Yeah. I'm sure it sucks after a while.
Do the deliverers ever know what's inside the packages? I hate getting CPUs delivered, it's way too risky in my neighborhood.
OP, do you get any shipping/company discounts? What are they?
Be sure to thank your coworkers for leaving my $800 laptop out in the open infront of my house when I wasn't home. Luckly nobody stole it, but still what the shit
I never understood why they just left them out in the open like that, I knew someone who stole a few off the doorstep of peoples houses. Need some sort of mail box, but for packages...
OP do you use them cool vans with the slidey doors and no seatbelts?
We aren't allowed to ship items that are worth more then 49,999.99 OR human remains. Can't send illegal drugs, weapons, or alcohol.
I wonder, can I send a gun with out a firing mechanism and then send the firing mechanism in a different box?
I love the UPS guy who always delivers to my house. His name is Jon and whenever we aren't home he knows that it's safe to leave the packages next to the side gate. He is awesome. UPS are great too. They always deliver really fast for me, even though I live up this longass Canyon road with like 5 houses near me.
Yesterday he was delivering a package to my neighbor, and I had a question about my package. I told him where it was (Colorado) and he told me I would get it tomorrow. He was right, and it came at like 3:30 today. UPS rules.
:buddy: I personally know my UPS guy, shit's awesome, not thrown around on my doorstep or anything.
Now FedEx on the other hand..
Why are you all still thinking he works for UPS? He doesnt. He is employed by a company called Mail Boxes Ect. which is based in Italy. All the store is is just the logos and that is it. He doesnt get to see the huge sorting facilities or drive a truck or any of that. All he does is pack boxes up and keeps some mail safe for the post boxes in the store.

Hell if anything goes wrong before it gets on a truck UPS will not even do anything because this is the best way ever to not get fucked up because it isnt them who did everything. Its some other company and they get off clean. Its a huge mess of confusion so they dont get sued constantly because people in the stores have sticky fingers or cant pack things properly.
My friend's dad works for FedEx and they hate UPS.
It's funny.
I don't really have an opinion though, they both get there at around the same time in around the same condition.
When you were a kid did you try to shove the square peg in the round hole a lot because all of the packages I get from UPS that are supposed to be square are actually round
The UPS guys around here always ring the doorbell when they bring something. They're cool.
And UPS is better than FedEx because they ship everything faster and their shipping costs less. :colbert:
My UPS guy is nice and honks the horn when he pulls up :)
Stop literally throwing my packages at the door please, douchebags. Thanks
Don't expect us to wait for you to answer the door only to try and awkwardly converse with us as we try and continue on our jobs. Douchebag.
Agreed, you walked all the way out to my door step, so please ring my door bell so i know you dropped off a package.

What pisses me off is when delivery people don't even ring the bell they just give you the note saying to pick it up.
We have 300 more doors we need to knock on before 7 pm, lemme just sit here and wait to make sure you got your package.
What really bothers me is when you have a package that you need to be signed for but the person who ordered it, and knew it was coming that day and KNEW it needed to be signed for still can't seem to be there when I deliver it and somehow it's my fault. Or the people who work from their top floor apartments, and order boxes upon boxes of the heaviest shit possible and then laugh as they watch you lugging it up the stairs.
People are in here ripping on delivery guys. They're not all bad. My dad delivers for UPS and he delivers and collects 75-80 packages a day. If he is off ill two people haver to separately cover him because he works so hard delivering things. Never had one complaint about him.
ITT: Stereotype of Delivery men :smith:
Oh man, it's even worse during peak season. Imagine having to move 500 individual packages in a day, and then when your done with that load you have to go meet up with another driver to take half his load because he apparently incapable of moving at a healthy pace.
*edit*
If you haven't figured it out yet, I work for UPS. God, I could type for hours.
I've always loved UPS! There was only one incident where something went wrong, which was them not shipping a package immediately becuase of a 'wrong address' - this being the same address saved in Amazon that always works fine, double checked it and it was %100 right. It got there the next day though, I assume it was because it was snowing that day. Another time, when I was waiting for my PC parts to get here, they didn't drop everything off so I asked if they had more and they looked and brought it out :D.
Fedex is alright, but I always prefer UPS. USPS sucks, though. DHL doesn't even deserve a mention.
I love all shipping services in general. I've never had a single complaint against any of them. The folks who deliver my stuff straight to my door are really great and friendly, too.
If you guys have a problem leave a note or something, or even make a delivery box for them to put packages in with a note. I put a note to make sure they put our packages on the porch and they did.
What happens if I send a live animal in a box not marked for livestock?
makes me feel pretty cool to know that i made sure that package go to someone safely.
Reminded me of that one episode.

If you aren't there, we just leave it out of sight of the passerbys, the road etc. etc. Unless it is sensitive material that needs to be signed for. For instance, I can deliver ammunition to you, but I can't leave it at your door if you aren't there to sign for and receive it.
Be sure to thank your coworkers for leaving my $800 laptop out in the open infront of my house when I wasn't home. Luckly nobody stole it, but still what the shit
Really?.. I live in a gated comminuty which is supposed to be safe so I don't worry so much.
But aren't they supposed to just leave it there, unless told otherwise?

No. Not if it is that expensive. Someone did not want to do their job properly.
And no, we do not steal stuff. Because tampering with those packages is a federal offense, and can carry very long sentences if caught. Not to mention we are offered something like $5,000 to report theft. So if anything people are on the lookout for others stealing packages. In fact, during my orientation the head of security told us a story about someone he himself had to have arrested for theft was currently serving a ten (I think) year sentence for stealing while on the job.
