That's because your'e using the Tile texure mapper technique, it's meant to show every little detail of the model. Besides the model looks LP enough to me before the reducement. Also, there's a line where you can see the actual critical visual changes during the poly reducement, so you need to stop there. Even if you have a large forest with 500 polygon trees, if you remove one polygon of each tree you would have 500 polygons less.

Look, theres a difference between this, the tehnique you are using bolds out every face and triangle of the model, I agree that it deformed the mesh in a most horrible way, but you just over did it. Example: [IMG]http://i50.tinypic.com/j9y61u.jpg[/IMG]
