The webseries doesn't follow the story of Halo 4, the events of Halo 4 take place at least 10-20 years after the events of this webseries. Halo 4 is also the first time humanity ever saw Prometheans, so that's pretty much out of the question.
did you watch the video
It's about Halo 4, which means Prometheans.
The humans have known about the covenant wayyy before anything.
They're on the planet the Prometheans are on in the Gameplay trailer, they're fighting Prometheans.
That's why the guy said "What the hell are those things?"
I'm quite sure that's the reason because the trailer said THE STORY OF HALO 4
This Video series takes place way early on
The Main Character "Lasky" is a Cadet in this, he grows up to be a Commander in the UNSC Navy (hes shown at the very end listening to Cortana's distress call from the Forward Unto Dawn)
Please look up your facts before hand.

They only showed Master Chef at 02:15.
Way too late.
This takes place during the "civil war". Humans v.s humans. They're probably being attacked by spartans. Here.
Spartans never join the insurrectionists AFAIK
Also, in the video one of the Kids mentions its a 'Holy War' and you can see a cloaked figure walking through water at 2:13
According to the latest official 343 podcast this takes place shortly after first contact with the Covenant.

This is like a prequel
Does anyone know what CAMS stands for? I figure C Assault Marine School... Any ideas?
I would place this series taking place just before the Battle for Instillation 00 http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Battle_of_Installation_00 set on Earth between Covenant and Humans.

I don't think so, the Master Chief is supposed to be wearing the Mk.IV version of his suit, which got upgraded to Mk.V around the start of Halo CE. Therefore this takes place before the original trilogy.
It can't be on Reach as 117's steps are very well documented.

It's even before Reach.
It takes place way early on in the war according to the newest 343 Podcast.

Before being buttraped by the Covvies, humans had around ~80 planets.
I'm pretty sure that there was about 800 planets, not 80.
I'm guessing this takes place sometime between First Contact(Battle of Harvest) and the destruction of Installation 004(aka Halo 1). Keep in mind there are 27 years between First Contact and Halo 1.
Halo 4 might. The official section of Xbox.com says "System requirements forthcoming." What Xbox needs system requirements. :quagmire:

Sorry to bust your bubble, but by System Req they mean HDD space (on xbox, Reach requires at least 4GB) required, controllers required etc.

prometheans is mass effect

Promethean is the name of the warrior sect of the Forerunners.
You know what would solve everyone confusion of when this took place? Is if they made the armour not look like the suit he wore in Halo 2 and 3.

it doesn't, that's a Mark IV suit.

The chest piece is identical to the MKVI armour. Looks nothing like the MKIV armour shown in other sources other then Halo Legends, which is what the armour in this Series is based off.

they should make a level about when the spartans went incognito on eridanus II and blew up a space port and shit. something along the lines of a gameplay mix between hitman blood money and red faction geurilla.

The shoulders definitely look different, but the helmet and chest plate are closer to Mark IV than to Mark VI.
It looks like starship troopers except without all the underlying political undertones.
Alright so I have 4 books:
Fall of Reach
The Flood
First Strike
Ghosts of Onyx
Not sure what order they are supposed to be read in because I bought them like 4 years ago.

Mass Effect had Protheans.
And don't forget that they have a kinda stupid doctrine.
You know, the delete fucking everything plan instead of maneuvering around and regaining their bearings.
The Covenant were a nigh undefeatable enemy. If Humans won on the ground (which we did, a lot) we would lose enough men to claim a Pyrric victory.
The Covenant would then come in and destroy the planet entirely.
The Covvies weren't trying to win a war. They were trying to wipe out the Human race.
98+ % of the Human race died too. Earth was pretty much the last place humans lived. 26 Billion people died, leaving around IIRC ~500 million people left.
The reason why we deleted everything instead of trying to move around was because the fall of Humanity was inevitable, the Cole Protocol (No more civilian ships, no ship can retreat to Earth or any Human colony) was meant to delay the Covenant discovery and destruction of earth, which it did.

There are only 70 Human colonies, before the war.
Scroll down, list of all are here.

There were 70 known colonies in the Canon. Meaning they've been mentioned by name in the books.
The article you linked to even says
http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/United_Nations_Space_Command#Colonization
The apex of human colonization would come in 2492, when more then 800 worlds were inside UNSC territory and a handful of them were under development or had already developed into colonies.
And there are 210 inner colonies
"Hey CFO of Microsoft, let's put our flagship game on another platform so people don't have to buy our consoles, thus reducing the profit margin!"
Not many people would buy a console just for one game
Plus, porting from XBox to PC and vice versa is simple, it would take a very insignificant amount of time and gain them many more sales on a popular platform such as PC
They would be silly not to

MASTER CHIEF THE REAPERS ARE REAL!
Don't get me wrong, it looks cool, and I'm glad they're finally doing something live-action with Halo, but this just looks like a generic sci-fi action movie with a Halo skin on it.
