And ladies, know your place when it comes to engines, 454, please: Easily made 500hp, virtually indestructible for street use, and as you can see in the picture it even came with cast semi headers. During my grandpas lifetime he has owned about 5 factory equipt hemi cars.
I understand the 454s gave the HEMIs a run for their money, back then [editline]14th August 2011[/editline]
Oh, come on man. The 454 was boss. [t]http://www.c-dperformance.com/Orange-454-Ricky.JPG[/t]
Guddamn that thing looks great to me! Rat power FTW [editline]14th August 2011[/editline] [tab]In case you guys didn't tell, I'm a huge Chevy fan[/tab]
[tab]I like men[/tab]
454 is a good swapping engine due to it's large availibilty, though if your doing hardcore racing the hemi is the best way to go. One thing I like over the 440 about the 454 is the large valve covers. I'd probably use the 454 if I was swapping a V-8 into a car, though I'm just more familiar with the 440 and I have alot of parts for it, I don't think my family has ever used a 454.
take everything out of my car's engine bay cram 454 in make RWD this is what i think about when im bored

A year too late, still my favorite muscle car in the whole fucking world. My dad had one in Cali back when I was 6 and sold it for super fucking cheap. I miss it. But I'm sure I've said this before.

Anything from late 40s to early 70s. It was a magical time of prosperity and good times/good cars, before the raghe--err, arabs--had to fuck it up and go shit on everyone's party, anything from then is boss. I think 1978 was a good year for GM. The Granada? Fairmont? Dodge Omni? Ehh... One of the best decisions GM ever made was changing to the Metric Chassis. One of the worst decisions they ever made was replacing it with huge, heavy FWD boats.

Oh, right. 1969. Aerovette, bitches. A year late, but still badass: Mazda RX-500 Concept. Also, Japfeiffer is WRONG about the Honda Z600. It was first available in the US, as it was around the world, in 1970 as a 1971 model. The N600 was available in 1969 as a 1970 model though. [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e1/1970_Honda_N600.jpg[/t] Then again, the best Honda around that time was still the 1300 [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/41/Honda1300coupe.JPG[/t] Too bad it wasn't available in America. 1.3 liter four cylinder, air cooled, developed 100 horsepower. That was unheard of at the time, it kind of puts the Beetle to shame. Too bad the 1300 was front-wheel drive. Sigh... Why does Honda ruin all of their best looking cars with the least fun drivetrain layout available?

I'm sure a light nimble car like that would be a blast to drive regardless of drivetrain layout.
