IIRC someone in his family took their driving test in it as well. You'd have to ask him about it.

^ I agree, that's the only gripe I have against Hemi 'cudas :/ [editline]23rd August 2011[/editline] I can't believe nobody posted this one yet... shame on you, guys Look at that bad boy. IMO, the sexiest Corvette gen ever. 69' GTO "The Judge" FTW!

I've driven a '76 Vette, and my dad owned a '70 Challenger w/426 Hemi that I frequently rode in when I was 3-6 years old in California.
I know it's original and all, but couldn't they atleast make it presentable? I mean, that is a rare car but i'd be ashamed to have it in such poor condition...
Agreed. A rare car like that deserves to be restored to it's pride and glory.
Here's a photo comp. of why the 70's, 80's, and 90's sucked so bad compared to the 60's especially the late 60's: Camaro Mustang Challenger Cougar I didn't live in the 80's, but were these cars actually cool? Like cooler than their older counterparts? Instead of getting better each generation, the automakers would think how they could destroy a flawless car with good reliability, power, looks, ect. Oh I know let's make it out of low grade alloys that people can bend with their hands, slap on some cheap plastic bumpers to make it "safe," drop in a mediocre and unreliable 4 or 6 cylinder that gets the same gas mileage as its predecessor's V8, you want performance? Ok we'll give you a 120 hp V8 that won't last 50,000 miles without the block cracking or chipping away at the internals, or leaking oil and catching everything on fire. We'll also add some plastic nerdy ass rims and slap some Chinese beige or dark plastic on the bottom of the car because that looks soo classy, ect. And why is it you see cars with completely yellow, foggy headlights only from the 80's and 90's, but a rusty ass car from the 60's or 50's have clear headlights? Cars in the 70's-90's were dying cancer patients of their earlier versions.
80s-90s yes 70s never but there was one good thing to come from GM in the 80s.

Rotary was cool in the '60s too But far cooler in the 80s. In fact, all Japanese cars were cooler in the 80s. The 80s gave us the best Corolla, the first D series Civics, the Celica Supra (1978 I know, but the best ones were in the 80s), the S11/S12 200SX and the S13 240SX, the 280ZX and 300ZX, the Starion... America gave us... The Cavalier. The K cars. The Escort... Although, in the 80s, they had some cool American cars. Most of which carried over from the 70s, like the entire GM G-Body lineup, with the Hurst Olds. The GNX, the Monte Carlo SS... Then there was the Mustang. THAT'S IT FOR FORD LOL and from Dodge/Chrysler we had the... Hmm. The... Omni...? Eugh. Then there was my favorite Dodge ever: The Diplomat. Fuuuuuuuuck yeah. Can't beat a subtle mopar. But overall, my favorite era of cars is 1980-1995. Fifteen years of beautiful boxy imports, and I wouldn't change a thing.
I have a Lebaron out back, its pretty much identical to the diplomat.
That's because
Although the LeBaron name had been used before on Imperials, this was the first time the name was used on its own. This first Chrysler LeBaron was a rear-wheel drive M-body, a rebadged Dodge Diplomat with deluxe trim and equipment sold from 1977 to 1981.
My mom used to have a LeBaron. It sucked cause it was a 91 FWD Behemoth with a prune colored interior.
I used to have a LeBaron. It was an '85 GTS, turbocharged. Was a great car, the first time I ever heard turbo spool from the driver's seat, and made me want something turbocharged.
My dad used to have a Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe.... but we were so poor then we had to sell it for something we could afford to work on, ... an S-10 :suicide: [editline]4th September 2011[/editline] Goddamn i love that year monte carlo... I always wanted one. My dad had two then, the Aerocoupe and some blue looking one with a ragtop, but i was like, 5 or 6 then i can't remember what it was. Working on those cars was my first memory of working on cars... just wish it could have been without the abuse of my dad...
Some more 'vette love
My grandfather is a huge 'vette collector and has 2 Stingrays (including a factory 454 Big Block, yellow with black racing stripes, original owner), two C4 Indy pace cars; as well as two Vipers, one being an ACR. Some of my fondest memories are riding around in that yellow Stingray as a child. I'm a huge 'vette fan now, and Stingrays are some of the most beautiful cars ever made, in my opinion.
