Hm, makes sense. Byzantine empire controlled Turkey in the past, I guess it can be one of their coins.
Get some history lesson, kid.
Did anyone else think it was a burger patty at first?
That coin belongs to the Empire of Cyrodiil.

Fuck, i had that, but lost it somewhere. It still annoys me to this day.
keep it in a dry, stable temperature room till you talk to a expert
take it on pawn stars
get $60 for it
take it on pawn stars

they tell you it can go for around $500
get $10
Get it appraised by 2-3 people. It might be worth a lot if it's in that good condition and is from the middle ages.
Nice find mate, this inspired me to have a look on ebay for some rare coins, they had an authentic "NAZI REICHTAG RARE RARE MINT COIN" going for 12 dollars.
Remember not to clean it and remove any tarnish or anything.
That would devalue it.
Hey, my great-great-great-great-great-grandfather dropped that! That coin is rightfully mine.
Holy shit OP, if that coin is really from the 5th century or something, you are going to get rich.
This doesn't even look like a coin

No he isn't.
Holy shit OP, if that coin is really from the 5th century or something, you are going to get rich.
That entirely depends on how rare 5th century coins are. Roman coins for example are worth almost nothing due to their prominence.
Let's be honest OP is going to do nothing but put the coin in a drawer and forget about it
Can you take top down pictures with the letters side turned to the right orientation? Would make it easier then me scrolling all over my 32 inch TV and trying to scan the coin and rotate it in my head.
OP, i suspect you may have found a Byzantine or Ottoman coin, dating to at least 1200 A.D., but it's pretty chancey that it's a lot older than that.
Coins made of copper were pretty common during those times, as were the crude stamping presses they had. You can also tell by the overlap of metal edging that the stamp press they used was made of either stone or metal; I can't truly differentiate which one it is because I can't tell if the rough edges around the stamped engravings are rough from the stone, or rough from ages of deterioration.
Overall, pretty awesome find. :kamina:
