Fight club, it was okay the first time I saw it but after HOLYSHIT AMAZING LET'S WATCH IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!! meh good one time watch
Beauty and the beast
Fight Club is "FIGHT THE SYSTEM BY PUNCHING EACH OTHER"
You haven't actually seen Fight Club, have you?
You haven't actually seen Fight Club, have you?
Yeah I have, I was just exaggerating out the ass. I know it has all these themes about consumerism and repressed masculinity and all that, but to me it seemed like it was a lot of violence masquerading as something more intelligent than it actually is. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the effort and the cinematography and the attempts to make it meaningful, but it just seems to fall flat for me. But hey, that's just my opinion and that's the point of this thread. Anyone getting agrees is doing it wrong.
Borat, Superbad, The Hangover, basically any of those movies that everyone's like OMG BEST MOVIE EAVAR!!!!!111!!! Though, I enjoyed avatar. wasn't the 'best movie ever' but it wasn't god awful and overrated like some movies are.
The Hangover - officially the most overrated comedy of all time.
Avatar, everyone in my class loves it. I can't fucking stand it anymore, they're always nagging on how good it is.
Avatar, everyone in my class loves it. I can't fucking stand it anymore, they're always nagging on how good it is.
yes guys, the SPECIAL EFFECTS were really good
Pulp Fiction and Paranormal Activity
Old dogs
Dragon Wars(D-Wars)
As an adaption of the game, Silent Hill. Horrible, horrible. But very pretty.
The Deer Hunter, Total Recall, Superbad, Adventureland, Straw Dogs, and anything by John Hughes (especially Breakfast Club.)
I'm in the same boat with everyone and Avatar. I had a friend explain it best when he said, "Visually, it's gorgeous as hell, but story-wise...it's a retarded Pocahontas." I also don't understand the obsession with Twilight flicks and Tim Burton's stuff.
Avatar definitely. Seems like I'm not the only one. Also the Hurt Locker. I didn't HATE it, but it definitely wasn't as good as people made it out to be.
I don't think avatar counts people. Everyone hates Avatar.
The Hangover - officially the most overrated comedy of all time.
Pretty much this.
the hurt locker [editline]12:24AM[/editline]
Saw movies are fucking dumb. And yet all of the guys around me go all "omfg dis movies iz so ocol and brutel!!!!1"
you have to admit, the first Saw was interesting and different. it actually had a story too. the rest were shit of course [editline]12:26AM[/editline]
Boondock Saints and Fight Club. Incoming boxes.
what's wrong with you
Watchmen, the long version.
Batman by Tim Burton. He totally, and completely MISSED THE FUCKING POINT of The Joker. He's NOT an artist! Also, his Batman is rather lax on his "No killing" rule, which is a major part of his character. That said, Jack Nickelson played him brilliantly, Batman is pertetually cool, Danny Elfman made a spectacular score and the whole film looks awesome and I love the sequal, even if Batman is even more lax on his rule. Tim Burton and Batman are two of my favouraite thing in the universe but the combonation this time around didn't work. For these reasons I would have to say that The Dark Knight is better than Batman.
Gran Torino.
you have to admit, the first Saw was interesting and different. it actually had a story too. the rest were shit of course
Hell yes, the ending was really good. In the second one, everyone came off as fucking thick as pig shit, and literally ALL the mystique of the jigsaw killer was gone. I didn't watch the 3rd one. Or the fucking 3 other movies. [editline]12:00AM[/editline]
Gran Torino.
My god man It was heartwarming, fucking sad at times, and clint eastwood is still a fucking bad motherfucker.
The new war of the worlds :eng99: The dark knight
Basicly every popular movie that's out today. They're all overrated, predictable garbage.
The new war of the worlds :eng99: The dark knight
For some reason Spielbergs WotW makes me want to eat untoasted toast with ketchup. [editline]07:20AM[/editline] I really love that soundtrack though: Not to forget Morgan Freeman's narration.
Inglorious Bastards
Inglorious Bastards
I rented that movie then got drunk and watched it, and all I vaguely remember is some guy going into a base, planting an explosive and driving out in Hitlers car or something.
