It was a while ago, I had a paper route and I was walking at 04:00 in the morning, it had just snowed and everything was white and untouched and the sky had a hint of white/gray. There was absolutely no sounds or noises, including wind. So I just walked there unnerved, listening to my footsteps tramp down snow. As I am walking there holding on to my cart and pulling it through the snow I hear a rustle, kind of startled since it was the first noise I've heard not caused by me on the route I turn around and face a kind of wired fence. I look for a few seconds while my eyes get used to what they're seeing and I'm starting to turn around when something that had looked like a cluster of snow just before seemed to move in a way that formed a tall, thin, snow white figure, it looked like it had been bending over towards me judging how it stood up. It moved away from me and disappeared behind some garage leaving me frozen there. I took a good 10-15 seconds before I carried on walking nervously. I'm skeptical on all paranormal things but I'm convinced that what I saw wasn't human. What always bothered me about it was the way that it had just stood there eyeing me while I looked straight at it not really seeing it.
one time, a ghost came into my house and told me to get my ass out. Then I asked him what he wanted from me, and he bent down to look at me and said "I want three fiddy."

Creepy, real or not it doesn't matter because it's entertaining. I mean come on Facepunch, even gbs can control themselves from shitposting a ghost story thread, I wasn't expecting much, but can you stop clogging the place up? Don't care? Don't post.
Some weeks after my sister died, we noticed a sweetly perfume going around our house, it was one of the perfumes she used to wear. And, the very same day she died, i woke up from a dream i had about her standing with another man, in a white like dress and that man also had white clothing. I barely remember it now but i understood that she was saying her goodbyes and stupid as i was, i shrugged it off. That same night we got a call from the police that she was found dead in her appartment and apparently had been dead for a few days.. She died of overdose of painkillers. We even felt her presence during that "occurence" with the perfume.
How about the fact that there's zero evidence or interest in the scientific community, in relation to the supernatural. With all of this chatter about ghosts, they should be as plentiful as rabbits. I don't remember a ghost story that isn't correlated with religion. Exorcisms always work in these stories (seriously). Just like religion, ghosts are based purely on supposition.

Oh but I do care because some of these stories entertain me if they are well told and written, it's also great when a story does come up that is difficult to explain.
This one time I saw a ghost true story
This one time I saw a ghost true story
That's nothing. I saw one kept behaving cryptically, whispering in my ear, and occasionally appearing for a brief moment. I was pretty disappointed with the F.E.A.R series though.
I think your mind was just playing tricks with you. The world works logically, there is no such thing as ghosts. What makes you think someone can still be on earth after they die?
Hurf durf people are buried on Earth not in outer space.
I have a quickie. I was playing Team Fortress Classic alone in the house. It's about 4:00 PM and my parents left a while back to watch a movie so I figured around now they'd be back. So shortly after I hear from downstairs, "we're home" and some other random chit-chat between my mom and dad. So I take a break from TFC and go down to ask how the movie was and all that stuff but amazingly, nobody was there. I felt chilled as soon as I realized this. The voices sounded so real and believeable. Well, after that I played some more TFC while also being scared shitless. Not the best story but this thread made me remember it.
Wow, what a coincidence. Yesterday, I was searching if there were any ghost threads around Facepunch recently. There were none, then today, there happened to be a ghost thread made. That's my strange experience. I'm serious. It's happened to me many times and it started back in 2006 when I "saw" my long lost friend and I meet after school. The next day after school, I happened to see him after school and we greeted each other. Oh and this stuff happens to me all the time. Like I can see into the future or make up what's gonna happen in the future. I don't do it purposely though. It's like, you think of something but that thought goes away immediately or you never stop and think about that thought, you don't really care about what you were thinking about. Then, it just happens. Not sure if this happens to everyone, but I know it happens to me.
I get this all the time, but it's always too minor to make sense - and they're fragments. On the 18 October 2005 (I checked my diary) I had a dream about standing in this room. There was a black sofa next to me, cobblestone floors, some old timey gas lamps that weren't lit, a black cat and I could see a kitchen through the doorway with a calendar with a picture of a sunset on it and there were a pair of hiking boots by the door. I was saying "I'll go for the creme egg!" This Easter, I was in my sister's cottage in Oxfordshire. Sure enough, the scene played out - the gas lamps were decorative, the boots were my sister's husband's and I was talking about splitting Easter eggs with my brother. It's annoying, because as soon as it happened I knew I'd dreamt it, but I couldn't very well tell everyone because it was so insignificant. I've done it loads of times, but it's always a bunch of stupid details I take in from the snapshot and a snippet of conversation, like "Wait, but I left the light on!" or "About Tuesday, I think?" and they make no sense to me until I get there.
Well not exactly a ghost story but something strange that happened to me: It was 1997 or 98 I can't really remember exactly when, anyways one night I had a dream, I was walking around a place, one thing I do remember is it being quite hot and I still remember quite well what it looked like; normally I do not remember much of my dreams but this one stuck very well. A few years later, must have been 2001 I think, I went on holiday to America, Florida with my mum and sister, after being there a day or so we went to look around the local area and we came to this block of shops, I recognized this from my dream immediately and as far as I'm aware it matched the place I dreamed of exactly; I of course told my mum but she did not believe me. I still can't explain it, for some reason I dreamed of a place over 3,000 miles away I would visit years later; I've not had any other strange experiences.
It doesn't sound that strange to me because i get that all the fucking time. The dreams are always stupidly detailed and then a few weeks or months later the events of my dream happen in real life exactly as i remember them from my dreams. Maybe we're clairvoyant OMGWATZORXX!!
It's called Déjà vu. It is a strange and sometimes scary feeling. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%A9j%C3%A0_vu
My house has loud pipes. It sounds exactly like footsteps at times. I know it's the pipes, but it scares my family sometimes because they think it's a ghost or someone broke into the house. Whenever I see or hear something strange, I immediately stop and repeat exactly what I just did. Most of the time it repeats itself and I know the cause. Sometimes, though, it's just some outside object doing that, like a cars headlights or something.

I'm skeptical on all paranormal things but I'm convinced that what I saw wasn't human. What always bothered me about it was the way that it had just stood there eyeing me while I looked straight at it not really seeing it.
Last december my school had a gig where i was performing and afterwards me and a few friends decided to meet at the pub. I had to go home and drop my guitar off/get money, on my way down i had the choice of cutting through the woods, it's a straight, roughly hundred meter long path in complete pitch black. Or i could have followed the streets round and walked an extra 500 or so meters. So i thought "fuck it" and went through the woods (this is about 11 PM) about half way down completely out of any source of light i hear rustling in the bushes and stop dead where i am, dampning my breath so i can hear whatever the rustling was made by without having my own panicky breath in the way. About 15 meters diagonally left of me was a slope (i know because i've lived here for 10 years and know the path very well) unfortunately because there was no light it was literally PITCH BLACK. I took one, very silent step forward hoping it was just a rock but as i moved my leg up, the bushes rustled again and i could hear a foot brush through one of the piles of leaves that little the wood floor that time of year. I started sweating, as my eyes became more accustomed to the darkness i managed to make out the rest of the path clearly enough to see where i wanted to go and to see the bushline where the noise was coming from. I was litterally shitting myself, so i thought that if there's something or someone there my best chance is to just bolt it. so i took one BIG, silent breath and bolted out of there leaving a pile of shit in my wake. As i started running the bushes where the noise was coming from practically came alive with noise as what/who ever was in there came out of them. I ran down the rest of the path and darted out of the woods to the pub which was about 2 blocks away. Luckily, i was wearing a black shirt and dark jeans, so i would have been impossible to see in those woods. I know it's not a ghost story but it's the only time i've ever felt so fucking terrified.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%A9j%C3%A0_vu
Yes i know the feeling that you've seen something before is Deja Vu, but it's more than just thinking i've seen it before. I KNOW i've seen it before, and i know exactly what's going to happen during those moments that i had in my dream. And there always something boring, never anything useful :(
This one time I saw a ghost true story
Hurp a durp.
One of the most intrieging things that has ever happened to me happened the night that this plane(http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,492164,00.html) crashed. I was lying asleep when i had a dream that I was in a plane during a night flight. I then saw that there was a flaming reckage in the ruins of a home in Buffalo, NY. I percieved that there was a lot of ice, both on the plane and the landing strip, and that the landing gear had had issues. The creepiest part was that I knew that 50 people had died. Not an urge or a hint, just plain knowledge. In the morning I heard about the crash and was astounded. Not necessarily a ghost story, but something eery nontheless.
I'm fucking paranoid now. Thanks.

We've the first people to live in my house. No ghosts. Though I've had some strange experiences at my grandparents old home. They had a 1850s mansion type house, great, big, awesome, but it was spoooky at night. I remember walking around when I was about 9, it was nighttime, I saw something move in the kitchen. I was like WHAT ARE THAT and followed it into the basement. I went into their laundry room and I don't know what it as but I saw a bunch of faintly luminescent figures. Scared, I ran the hell upstairs and next thing I know I was asleep and woke up in the closet. Oh yeah, and there was a spider's nest in the closet. *shudder*
I love these stories. The oddest thing that's happened to me was when I went to the Amish country in America (Berlin, OH to be exact) with my parents. We stopped in a furniture store, and the were looking around. I decided to head down to the basement level, and I found a row of rocking chairs. I sat down because I was tired from walking everywhere. As I sat there, I had this feeling of dread that just kept getting heavier, and I kept feeling paranoid, like being watched. Finally, it was bad enough to the point where I couldn't take much more, so I went back upstairs. Dunno what it was, but pleasant is what it wasn't.
I used to live in an old Farm house, now I dont think there is an after life so I have thought up my own explanation for ghosts. A man died at the house i used to live in and my brother and my mom both say someone who would be there one second and gone the next. We looked up the house history and found a picture of the man, and they both said it looked just like him. Another thing that happened, I was sleeping on the couch one night and I woke up to the entire house shaking and right over my head flew this white cloudy thing and made an odd noise. The white thing went right into the bookshelf and was gone. My brothers and I were sitting outside waiting for my mom to come out and drive us to school, we saw someone walk outside toward the car and head behind it. We thought this person was our mom, but a few seconds later our mom was coming out of the front door and no one was behind the car. One night we heard someone going up and down the stairs, so we went to look and the noise continued to go up and down the stairs and no one was there. Dishes would randomly fall off of shelves, pictures would fall off of shelves, books would fall off, and random cold spots would happen in this house. When my sister was 2 she saw an old lady in a rocking chair at another house we lived in, nobody else could see her but the chair was moving.
I think there is a ghost living inside me because one time I was looking at a naked lady, and white ectoplasm came out of my penis

Yesterday me and my sister were sitting in my room, when I saw a quick glimpse of a cat walking past the doorway of the other bedroom. I told her that one is still here (they should have been downstairs in order to not disrupt our sleep, we had the door to upstairs closed). And she said, "But they are both sleeping in our couch" mystery deeeeeeeepens It was creepy though.
