About 4 years ago, we used to live in this really old house, probably about 80-100 years old with my mom's friend and her kids. Obviously it had all the old house creaks and stuff, so that was not paranormal. However, one night I had my brother (half-brother) spend the night with me at that house (which was my mom's). It was about 11 at night and me and my brother were watching TV in the living room, I was sitting in a recliner chair, and my brother was laying down on the sofa. Out of the corner of my eye coming from the far kitchen door, I see a figure. Nothing was distinguishable about the figure, I couldn't see it's face or anything, just a black figure. I look over at it and there's nothing there. I just shrugged it off as my mom's roomate's kid trying to scare us or looking to see what we were doing. I went back to watching TV, and as soon as I did that, I saw the figure again in the corner of my eye, this time closer. I looked to the place I saw it again, and there was nothing there. I figured it was still my mom's roomate trying to scare us, so whatever, I went back to the TV. Well, I saw it again, this time even closer. At this time I'm getting a little freaked out, but I don't want to freak out my brother, so I don't tell him. Back to watching TV, I saw the figure in between the sofa and my chair out of the corner of my eye. I look over and suddenly my brother's head turns really fast and looks down at the place between the chair and sofa. I asked if he saw something, and he replied "No, I just thought I felt something touch my leg though." That got me pretty freaked out, but I still didn't tell him, but we did go to my room to play gamecube after that. That house had a lot of weird stuff happen when we lived there, creepy shadows, feeling like you were being watched, etc. There was another time where I thought I saw a figure coming down my stairs as well. Not saying it was a ghost, just a "ghost story" that happened to me
this one time I thought I saw a ghost, then I woke up and realized that it's total bullshit.
one time my friend was extremely baked and he thought my bathroom had ghosts in it haha to this day he still thinks there is x]
Was my cousins house, like 2 years ago. It was around 2 o'clock in the morning and we decided to go the bed. So we went down for some water before hand then we went back up, my cousin left the door a quarter open. So about like 30 minutes afterwards my cousin fell asleep,The house was absoloute pitch black. Then I looked at the opening in the door, It looked like a dark figure was pressed up at the door staring at me. Not sure if this was a shadow of some sort, but it creeped me the fuck out then I swapped beds with my cousin. He said he could not make the figure out at all.
I haven't had any ghost experiences, but my family's a bit haunted. Here's three:
He'd been out drinking, so this story is naturally a bit tenuous, but he was coming back at about 6 and he'd sobered up from the walk back. He was taking a walk back through the local graveyard - it's near our house - and he saw this elderly woman wandering about in a white dress. She was a fair bit off, but she looked a bit out of it. He asked if she was ok, but she just stared. He headed towards her, and there was a bush that blocked his vision for just a second, and she was gone. Thinking she'd fallen over, he ran over, but she was nowhere to be found and she couldn't have legged it that quickly. He hasn't been back there since.

Dad's friend, Jerry, lived in this old Victorian place and he hated his room - there'd always been something iffy about it. Jerry's mum (this was a while back) was renting it cheap because of some ghost story, although she'd never told him that since there was practically no space for him to switch rooms; it was a large family. Anyhow, my Dad went up the road to go see him and he was standing outside the door looking terrified. Dad asked him what was wrong, and the stuttered reply was just "I'm not going back up there." Deciding to investigate this himself, he entered the empty house (all the youngsters were at school the dad was at work and the mother'd gone to the shops) and went upstairs to the room. As soon as he entered, the door slammed shut so hard that the frame splintered, and there was a noise half way between a huge dog barking and a human screaming. He tried to leave, but his waistcoat (this was the 60s, waistcoats were sorta in fashion then) got caught on something - although behind him was the room, and the furniture was all around the sides so he's not sure what. He wrestled the door opened and sprinted downstairs. The room was still messed up when he showed me the house the other day - there was a lady doing weeding in the front garden and she said she couldn't go into that room at all during the night just because it made her so uncomfortable, and she always closed the door on it during the day.

He'd been drinking, so again this story is probably somewhat colourful. Anyway, he was up in the mountains outside Dublin and he'd just gone for a slash up by these fields. Heading back towards the pub, he saw a woman going up to where he'd been - it was just a dead end. He said to her "Good evening, missus" but she didn't respond. He felt a bit concerned, so he went to tap her on the shoulder but just about as soon as he touched her, she wasn't there. What was there was a big black dog with fierce eyes - larger than any normal dog. He ran back to the pub, and the dog just stood there and watched. Apparently a cottage had been at the end of the road a long time ago but burned down, although there was no trace of the dog or the woman save for a woollen shawl on a bush.

Wow, what a coincidence. Yesterday, I was searching if there were any ghost threads around Facepunch recently. There were none, then today, there happened to be a ghost thread made. That's my strange experience. I'm serious. It's happened to me many times and it started back in 2006 when I "saw" my long lost friend and I meet after school. The next day after school, I happened to see him after school and we greeted each other. Oh and this stuff happens to me all the time. Like I can see into the future or make up what's gonna happen in the future. I don't do it purposely though. It's like, you think of something but that thought goes away immediately or you never stop and think about that thought, you don't really care about what you were thinking about. Then, it just happens. Not sure if this happens to everyone, but I know it happens to me.
Has been happening to me in the past week or so :raise:
When ever I go into this one store down near where I live, Gander Mountain, (Sure some of you guys have heard of it) I always get a creepy experience. Whenever I walk past the mannequins near the back, I keep feeling like something's there. You know how you can always sense someone's behind you, just by the air feeling heavy, or something, even if you never turn around? Yeah, that's what happened. Not making this up, it's really weird. "Unfortunately" I haven't run into many ghosts or other strange things, though sometimes I'll be upstairs when it's dark, and I'll feel like something's behind me. And one time, I had some friends over, and I swear I heard something outside. It sounded like a footstep on concrete or something on our patio. Of course I was probably imagining it, I was in the third grade.

3 years ago there was a car accident in my court and everyone died, there was a little kid around my age (11) on my bed that night crying, that looked like the kid in the car (but with no blood) anyway, he was asking me if he knew were his parents was and that he was all alone and had no home, I then proceeded to tell him he can stay at my house for as long as he wants. I remember this story because every night i can see him at around 10 P.M. i was shitting bricks when i was 11 but at the same time i wasn't scared or anything, like i didn't want to run, i wanted to stay here, it felt very weird
This one time I saw a ghost true story
Made me laugh, and was not really a story.
THERES A GHOST CALLING ME FROM +447772552824 He said
A GHOST TEXTS: OOOoooooOOOOOOoooooOOOOooo
Good times :)
I put my dog out into the backyard one night when I was maybe 16. It was the middle of summer so people were still out and about (it was moderately late, something like 11:30PM). She's been out there for maybe 15 minutes so I go out and whistle for her to come in and I see this figure walking towards my neighbor's house with a strange green aura around her. I whistle again, and usually people will turn and look towards the source of sound, this figure didn't turn at all. My dog came up the stairs to my deck and I let her in and I turned around to try to see the figure again and it was gone. It was pretty strange, didn't really freak me out though.
I were dreaming, I saw an item, then I tried picking it up and suddenly woke up picking up the item like I was still in my dreams and I was like "what".
Usually, when I'm in the toilet doing my 'business', I hear water dripping from outside the toilet door, and usually presume it as the air conditioner leaking water as sometimes it malfunctions and starts leaking water until the repairman fixes it. Problem is that when I get out of the toilet, the floor isn't even wet. And once, while doing the same thing again, I saw a shadow moving up and down outside the door without a sound. Basically I was scared by it and couldn't find an explaination. Also, I once saw a white light floating behind my TV for a split second before, it was blur but clearly there. In my old house, my brothers ganged up to scare me by going to 'listen' to wall and told me there were ghosts there. Obviously I knew it was a prank and went to play along as they laughed, but I heard something say I saw going to die with everyone else. Behind the wall, there's nothing there by the way. And in the same old house, I got ambushed by a black flash while searching for some games in a small wall cupboard full of drawers. It probably isn't a cupboard, I just can't find the word for it.
Call em: lol. I don't believe in ghost, it might just hallucinations. Or at least it's scientifically proven.
Ghosts: Because the spirits of those long dead have nothing other to do than to mindlessly walk from side to side in the corners of your vision in an inane attempt to frighten the very jumpy.

Once when I was like.. 8 or something I was sitting in my friend's Sister's room while we all played some Playstation (taking it in turns because there were only two controllers.) While it was my turn to sit out I let my eyes wander as I always do, they suddenly locked onto the crack in the doorway (the door was open a crack still.) I was sure there was something there and I couldn't bring myself to break eye contact with the crack in the door, a few moments later I saw something walk from my friend's room and down the stairs, just a black figure. His parents were out so it wasn't them, still don't know what that was.
Very physical evidence. On my living room ceiling at the very faint images of skeletons type figures. One afternoon (about three years ago) after school me and my mate come home, and my mum is quite spooked. Me, being the logical person I'am investigates, and wouldn't you know, they're right there. There are several of these images, two are holding hands, one is in a fetal postion, and others just standing around. Now, this is the freaky thing. My mum had scrubbed a very large image of one of these skeletons so the whole ceiling was all blurred and dirty. This image is slowly but surely creeping out from underneath the scrub...the others move around too. Except for the two holding hands. I 've tried taking photos og them but because they are so faint they basically blend into the white of the ceiling.
This one time, i thought i saw a ghost watching me masturbate
That was me, I like jacking off to other guys jacking off. It's even better when there's another guy spying on me when I'm jacking off to. But it starts to get weird when there's another guy.
I've never seen a ghost, but I keep thinking I do, I've been seeing shadow men or what ever when I read. and I've also seen something weird heres the story. at my old house a carpenter died while makeing the house 40 years ago, now a days we call him "the ghost" or something. These have been happening. Puzzle pieces missing, banging on the walls, snow prints in the snow, and other things disapearing but reapearing the next day
If I stay up until twelve and am not preoccupied, I will hear our grandfather clock. It bongs twelve times, then is silent. This is every night. Just like last year, when we sold it.
Little bit of an introduction here, I got the idea for a thread like this from SA, their ghost story threads are magnificent. First of all - It's possible that this could be considered a post your, but frankly I'm hoping it won't be the +1 inane copy and paste/chat bullshit that makes up the entirety of Fast Threads. Hopefully some interesting stories will get shared, which I reckon makes it GD material. Second of all - Sceptics - There is nothing wrong with being a sceptic in this thread, please do post if you believe you have a logical explanation for something that happened in a story. What the thread could do without is shitposting about how ghosts aren't real and if you believe it you're stupid. The GD rules back this up, if you think it's shit there's no need to shit all over the thread. Thirdly - Fiction or Non-Fiction? There will more than likely be a few stories that just don't quite seem to sound genuine. While the thread is mainly about genuine experiences, there's nothing stopping people from posting complete fiction, and it'd be better if the thread wasn't filled up with thousands of people shouting "THIS SOUNDS FAKE". ^ Not that I'm trying to backseat mod, just hoping that some guidelines keep the thread halfway productive. Without any further adieu, the first of a few short stories of my experiences. So what the fuck are you doing next to my bed? It was 2 years ago, and I was still in school, what'd be referred to as High School in America. It was the easter break, which naturally means that schoolkids get tons of time off while no-one else does, it wasn't uncommon for me to be in the house alone for the majority of the day. This story actually takes place a foot away from where I'm typing this, in my bed. It was a pretty average day off, I'd slept till 12, gone out with my friends to play some rugby. Had a cheeky can of lager like the excitable teen I was, and gone back home because I was tired. This doesn't mean I was drunk by the way, just one can while we were out. So I get home, and my dad's gone to the pub, I go to sleep, and everything seems to be normal. Then suddenly I awake. I feel something, it's something that can't really be explained until you experience it, but there was just a tangible feeling that something was off. I couldn't see anything, or feel anything, but the air felt heavy and I was wide awake. I can see the clock from where I'm laid, 2:00, I might have heard my father coming back from the pub, I go with that explanation and close my eyes to try to get some shut eye. That's when I noticed it, how had I not before? To my left is a closet, it's about a meter away from my head, and was never particularly menacing, but it's unmistakeable. I can hear breathing, it's slow, it's quiet, but it's definitely there. At this point I'm in fight or flight mode, there's something in my fucking closet, and I'm not getting pushed around in my own bed, I'm opening the bastard right now. I lean over the gap between my bed and the closet and place my hand on the handle when I realise something. With my head next to the closet I notice that the breathing isn't actually coming from the closet at all. It's coming from, oh fuck, oh fucking no, I can only imagine I looked like a ghost myself from how ill the realisation made me. I look down and there it is. It's a man, he's knelt down on all fours beside my bed, so that his head is mere inches from the floor. The bright blue alarm clock doesn't give a startling amount of detail, but he seemed to be wearing a dirty yellow tanktop, and what looked like tracksuit bottoms. He had short hair, but I couldn't see his face as I was right above him, granted I didn't want to see his goddamn face. I stayed where I was, absolutely and completely shitting myself, I was beginning to sweat, I could feel tears beginning to well up in my eyes, I don't want this to carry on anymore. It starts getting faster, the slow, gentle breathing is gaining speed and becoming louder, I'm shaking so much I'm surprised I didn't fall down there with him. I don't know when I decided, but I just decided the breathing was getting fast enough for me to get the fuck out of there, without a second of hesitation I bolt for the door, rag it open and fly down the stairs as quickly as my legs will take me. It's a bit of an anti-climax, but I just slept downstairs on the sofa that night with all the lights on, and nothing of the sort has ever happened again. This might have something to do with having to move my bed over that spot when I got a new computer desk though. Hope you enjoyed what may be a pretty tame story by ghost story standards, but a genuinely terrifying experience for me. I hope that there are enough people who have had experiences who are willing to share them. Also I'm a bit of a sceptic as well, I will always try to look for a logical answer, but I can't explain what I saw. I'll post some of my other stories once a few more people post.
that's why you sleep with a camera obscura under your pillow.
Alright so i was at my grandparents house about 3 months ago. My grandparents are genuine texans who live in a giant old farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, basically the scariest fucking house you've ever been in. Since my parents and sister were sleeping in the two guest rooms, i had to get the couch which was next to the library. Every night ive ever been there i have felt as if someone was watching me, seriously scared shitless without anything even happening. now i have a history of getting scared in the dark, which i told myself every night before i went to sleep. well, one night i was particularly scared and so i decided that it was time to conquer my fears. with that in mind i stood up, walked into the library (which even in the daytime i have to run through) and started screaming challenges in the dark, such as "show yourself" and "kill me" etc. Nothing happened. After a few minutes i decided to go back to the couch, still scared. I then lay down to go to sleep, and for a few minutes everything was quite and i started to relax. it was then, all of a sudden, that i heard this huge "TAP! TAP!" coming right from a globe across the room, as if someone was rapping on it with their finger nails. I thus proceeded to freak the fuck out and ran out of my room into my parents where i spent the rest of the night. the next day i managed to replicate the exact same sound using my own finger nails.
It doesn't sound that strange to me because i get that all the fucking time. The dreams are always stupidly detailed and then a few weeks or months later the events of my dream happen in real life exactly as i remember them from my dreams. Maybe we're clairvoyant OMGWATZORXX!!
Well once me and my family we´re for a vacation we wen´t to some house for like 3 days, but when I had to sleep I looked up on the ceiling and I remember having a dream where I did that 2 years ago.
Thank you for fagging up this thread, with a faggy picture, from a faggy game. Defagification commencing:
That song is fucking epic!
This was abck in 1941, I was sitting in my SS appointed room, when I started hearing noises behind the walls, whispering and the sound of pen itching against paper, I went next door to investigate and found nothing but a bookcase, I listened closely and heard whispering behind it D: I reported it to the German SS and a load of bad things happened ;-;
Me and my brother were in the living room watching t.v. After a while we just turned off the t.v and slept on the couches because we didn't want to go to our rooms. Around 30 minutes later I heard the facet in the bathroom next to us turned on and we literally said "Holy shit" and ran to our rooms and didn't talk about until the next morning.
