prices should NOT be that high.
Over here in South Ontario (K-W Area) it's 10$ - G 20$ - 1/8. Every once in a while htough, you will run into GODLY weed, and it's 30-40$ 1/8, but still 10/G 50$ - 1/4 80-120$ - 1/2 120-160$ - 1Oz [editline]02:34PM[/editline] Also it doesn't make people lazy, they just don't have to do anything to be having fun!
Nova Scotia 10$ - G 30$ - 1/8 50$ - 1/4 90-100$ - 1/2 180-200 - 1Oz General prices for highs
I'm posting in this thread as someone who has never smoked marijuana once in their entire life. Am I proud? Well, no. I'm not less than proud either. I'm not gonna say much, just that my personal opinion is that it has been long overdue for legalization. I don't have to smoke it to know what happens when you do so, there are more than enough people to tell me. They only thing they ever said about it in school is that it : A: Kills brain cells- What doesn't? B: Gateway drug- Almost everyone I know smokes just pot and have been doing so for years. C: You can go to prison- I don't think I know someone who knows anybody that has ever been to any penitentiary, let alone prison. That's besides the point anyway because it should be LEGAL! I'm not gonna say any benefits of smoking pot, because there aren't really any (though it helps you relax, as smokers say). But is there any benefit of drinking Coke instead of just water? Is there a benefit in biting your nails instead of not biting them? Compare the deaths caused by alcohol and the deaths caused by marijuana. Think about it, it has to be a 1:0 ratio. Maybe someone got into a fight over marijuana and killed the person. But guess what? Where I live a kid killed another kid over a pack of cigarettes. On the radio, I heard a kid shoot (didn't kill though) his brother because he drank the last can of Coke in the house. Back to alcohol, alcohol makes you violent, and you could overdose on it. Marijuana... That's just my opinion, from a non-smoker.

I heard from a friend that if you call 973-409-3274 and vote yes, that if we get a million votes, Obama will consider legalization. Has anyone else heard about this?

Senator Barney Frank introduced a bill today to legalize 3.5oz of cannabis at the federal level. Sign the petition, http://blog.mpp.org/prohibition/congress-to-consider-allowing-marijuana-possession/06182009/

THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY BLOODY OXYGEN... They were suffocating and that is why they lost brain cells. But yes it is true so many of our every day things make you lose braincells, if you bump your head that is another couple braincells down, if you hold your breath you lose braincells. Hell some people say even cellphones make you lose braincells. In any case yeah, also I respect your opinion and am glad you can see past stereotypes.
Potheads: we respect the opinions of those who agree with us.

I'm not gonna ask schools to stop discouraging it. They have health class that discourages junk food... which actually more than likely shortens your life span more than pot.

Is Florida the only place where price is the measurement? A nic is $5 worth of weed, a dime, $10, a dub/quarter $25 and amount is variable.
The world and my life would suck even more without it. I just have one word to say to everyone: Legalize. It's the way forward. Statistics show that crime rates in Amsterdam are much lower than the U.K's, and as Slip777 most rightly said, it is not as harmful and does not have a huge death toll, unlike legal things like alcohol and smoking. Okay maybe that's more than one word but you get the idea. (:
I don't recommend weed for the depressed. It just made my depression worsen.
I'm not depressed :D Just stating the fact that weed can put a smile on almost anyone's face, whether they are smoking it or just watching someone who is stoned (:

Everything is becoming illegal here.
I love how these threads always leave out the studies showing Marijuana's impact on psychosis. Don't ask me to fetch them, I don't give a fuck enough. Oh BTW, impaired reaction times are a BAD thing when driving.
I know this is a late reply to this post, but I studied Psychology illnesses such as Schizophrenia, OCD etc. There is no evidence Marijuna increases the chance of getting them. Schizophrenia rates have been decreasing since the 1960's. If you compare that to the rapid increase in smoking related diseases a few years after the boom in the tobacoo industry (mainstream advertising etc, before they knew it was bad) it doesn't suggest marijuana is a cause at all. Paranoia is an interesting one people mention. First of all, as with other psychological illnesses, these aren't biological illnesses (not a physical problem with the body). Some people would argue there is no such thing as a psychological illness, just the perseption of normallity by a society. But paranoia in particular, is more a term for a state of mind than a seriously considerd psychology disorder. Marijuna has been suggested could affect those who already have psychological disorders in negative ways, but there is no proof it causes, or leads to an increase in them. There is also no evidence it effects people with disorders more-so than people who don't. They are extremly complicated disorders where there are multiple theories on what causes them.

And those who disagree with us are trolls.
It's not that you disagree, but that you disagree while presenting no sources or information. I made a full length post full of factual studies which site sources and give scientific data and explanations, yet what have you contributed to your argument? Ignorant misconceptions with no scientific proof what-so-ever. I'm all for a debate, but if you can't back your self up with evidence it would be like: Anti-weed: Weed is bad Pro-weed: Weed is good Anti-weed: Weed kills you Pro-weed: Weed makes your dick bigger If you're not a troll then i'm sorry, but learn how to present your views.
And those who disagree with us are trolls.
haha why do you even still post in this thread? i don't think anybody here really cares about what you have to say
First of all, lets try to keep the flaming and name calling down and try to have an intelligent discussion about marijuana. Please refrain from stupid comments such as "lol stupid stoners" and "lol ignorant non-stoners". I know this will be hard for Facepunch to accomplish, but we can do it if we try. There is a lot of research about marijuana, many which either don't have proper research backing them up or contradict other studies. This goes both ways for both pro and anti marijuana articles, so i'm going to try to post articles which back themselves up with sources/research and not pure speculation. Marijuana and cancer Inhaling any kind of smoke is bad for you, however the active ingredient in marijuana, THC, kills damaged cells before they can become cancerous. There was another article which went much more in depth in the scienece behind it but I am unable to find it. http://cancer.about.com/od/smokingandcancer/f/marijuana.htm http://www.smokedot.org/blog/07/10/11/marijuana-prevents-cancer-(federal-research)) http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig5/armentano-p1.html http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,312132,00.html Driving and marijuana Driving under the influence of ANY drug is obviously not good. This video and article show however that driving while stoned is safer than driving while drunk. This is because alchohol impairs judgement and increases risk taking, while marijuana simply slows you down and makes you more paranoid, thus making you more careful while driving because you are fully aware that you are impaired. http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/misc/driving/driving.htm http://www.drugpolicy.org/marijuana/factsmyths/#accidents How harmful is marijuana? http://www.drugpolicy.org/marijuana/factsmyths/#harms http://www.hempcar.org/untoldstory/hemp_9.html Why is marijuana illegal? Around ~400,000 people die yearly from smoking cigarettes, and around ~100,000 die from alchohol. So why is Marijuana illegal when the number of people dying from the actual consumption of the drug is so low? Sure, maybe a few idiots who were already idiots long before they smoked decided to jump off a bridge while high, but that's because they are IDIOTS and not because they were high. However this argument goes both ways for alcohol. http://blogs.salon.com/0002762/stories/2003/12/22/whyIsMarijuanaIllegal.html (Very good article, interesting read.) http://www.hempcar.org/untoldstory/hemp_5.html http://civilliberty.about.com/od/drugpolicy/tp/Why-is-Marijuana-Illegal.htm http://www.mapinc.org/norml/v07/n915/a02.htm (Drug laws must change, and why) Everything else about marijuana, including facts about addiction, brain cells, stupidity, and much more. http://www.hempcar.org/untoldstory/ http://www.drugpolicy.org/marijuana/factsmyths/ Again, please try to keep flaming and stupid comments to a minimum, and please read or skim through all of the articles with an open mind before posting. An intelligent debate is encouraged so long as you have research which sites its sources and methods to back up your claims. Refrain from "marijuana sucks lol stupid stoners" comments please.
Yeah, but smokers reek like motherfuckers, man. I quit weed just because of that piss-awful smell.
