I love how these threads always leave out the studies showing Marijuana's impact on psychosis. Don't ask me to fetch them, I don't give a fuck enough.
Oh BTW, impaired reaction times are a BAD thing when driving.
Don't know how late I am, but studies show that cannabis use reduces the chances of psychosis.
an accomplishment? What have you accomplished? Brainwashed by the government that it's bad because it's "illegal"? You're missing out on a wonderful thing, and EVERYONE should try it atleast once or twice before they can have an opinion on it. If someone's tried it, and they still don't choose to smoke it, then that's their choice. And if they don't want their kids smoking it, that's their choice (but then see, it all comes back down to the kid again), but saying it's bad and all pot heads are junky pieces of shit is a bunch of shit.
[editline]04:32AM[/editline]
Not implying you had called anyone a junky piece of shit, i'm just expanding my message to other people on this forum who ignorantly choose to believe so
I have never smoked weed... What have I accomplished? A job... Not saying weed automatically makes you incapable of all jobs, but jobs that do drug testing see if you smoke weed.
So accomplishment 1 is being able to keep a job by not smoking.
Also, your argument is going to be "But duuuuude try it once maaaaan its soooo coooool".
Many jobs that I apply to there is a complete background check with lie detector tests and complete analysis.
Now I am not one to say lie detector tests are a viable tool to determine if someone is lying, but I would rather not take the chance of failing one and missing a career opportunity because I decided to smoke weed and fail a question asking if I have ever used illegal substances.
So what people need to understand is there are several legitimate reasons as to why not to smoke weed.
As a side note, everyone I know who does smoke weed all seem to agree it does have effects on them. You can cite all these sources and argue your heart out, but when actual users tell me they can't stop smoking weed or that they can't remember shit or that weed has negatively impacted their life it is hard for me to go "Hmm maybe all these pot heads who say it's harmless are right."
I enjoy the occasional puff now and then, but it isn't addicting.

I smoke weed and have a job.
You obviously don't live in a free country.

If you are pro-non-legalization of marijuana, you might as well want to make tobacco and alcohol too. If you don't then I seriously don't see any argument that you could possibly have.

Holy fuck where do you live?
The nature of my work means high security risks so they take every precaution they can.
When I say job I don't mean I am applying to the local video store. I am a chemist so depending on the place of employment there can be several levels of security.
Again, this isn't 100% for every job, I can easily get a job that is not so strict and drug testing may be all that is required, but the few work places that I am interested in tend to have a higher form of screening.
And to whoever said I don't live in a free country, I live in the United States. Doing something that is illegal is usually a good way to not keep a job.
In the state I live in they also don't have to disclose why they fire you. So if you get a DUI and they want to fire you for it they can without any problems.
Oh yeah, I smoke weed, I never finished High-school, I'm going to be a chemist! :downs:

United States... Free country? Ahahahahahahaha
But fair enough on the job front. Your career > smoking weed, if you find yourself in that situation.
Hmm, i read the amount of deaths caused by different drugs, and it says marijuana is 0.
Anyone have the statistic for LSD deaths?
I tried weed a while ago. The first couple times nothing really happened, but the third time I tried it I got insanely high and started suffering some serious depersonalization, it took a couple of days to go back to normal, but for the next few months I still felt some traces of depersonalization.
I think weed should be legal, but I also think that it can have some really bad effects on certain people (like me)

Didn't I state, "Most reasons for this is because of personal issues relating to friends ,and family who've used it." I refuse to get in depth for the fact it usually gets people trying to manipulate every word I've said to make it sound like I'm some form of satanic prick.
If you want a some what valid reason my dad's friends who work for the Arizona Border Patrol have told me they've seen people do all forms of crazy shit to get pot ,and cocaine over the border.
I don't try it for the fact the area I'm in I'll most likely have some meth slipped into it ,and wow! Now I'm not only doing one not really addictive drug... I'm doing a drug that's highly addictive ,and made of cat litter ,and shit from under my sink! Great! This is my valid argument I guess for this shit..... "Why do you have to smoke weed? Is their any valid reason?"
laced bud is ironically a big reason why it should be legalized
yeah, besides ask around in your area there is bound to be a local farmer.
ooo its DD up in here.
for those of you who've never smoked bud, don't knock it 'til you try it.

1: That's because since Marijuana is illegal and so are the other drugs that people have to resort to more drastic measures in order to be able to get it to the buyers. Not to mention it's a high paying illegal business, and they will certainly do whatever it takes to make more money. Legalization would decimate any underground trade, And thus remove this problem.
2: Living in an area where any marijuana that you could potentially purchase being laced with a more addictive and dangerous drug doesn't mean that the rest of the world is the same. Like said previously, If marijuana was legal then this issue would be removed since you could just purchase some marijuana at your local drugstore and not have to worry about it being laced.
3: Asking why a person would smoke weed is like asking why a person sky dives, plays video games, or does extreme sports. People do these things because they enjoy doing them even if it has no large positive effects. All of the above examples can be dangerous if done incorrectly, Just like everything else out there in the world that people find fun.
Although I don't smoke marijuana so you can just void this if you want, I just don't feel the government should be able to regulate what we do with our bodies if it doesn't effect anybody negatively.
Hey lets legalise murder that way there will be less murders

Hey let's compare something that takes away a conscious compared to something that can be used for personal enjoyment! :downs:

But on the plus side, Legalizing Marijuana will stop murders over the cartels.
Amen to that brother.
I've personally tried hemp, and I didn't like it.
I still think it should be legal though, seeing as my personal opinion doesn't change the fact it's not dangerous.
And of course, we live in a free country. Why should the government control how we live our life? It's, in all honesty, not fair. We should be able to control what we eat, drink and smoke. Even if it kills us.
After all, we have to die in some point in life.
As long as you know the risk then i say DO IT!

agreed
Eighth of bad weed? $15. Eighth of bad meth? $100. I'm thinking the cartels are not very interested in weed. There's a reason 90% of USA's weed comes from Humboldt county.
marijuana: the good, the bad, and the 'good god i'm fucking high'
Anyone who tries to say that weed is dangerous because of lacing is a sheltered child. No one is going add $50 of crack to your $10 of bud to "get you addicted." First of all you need to use a drug more than once to get a true addiction. Second of all, drug dealers are miserly bastards who won't waste their time lacing your weed with other expensive drugs. Besides, why would you buy from someone you don't trust?
I really don't know why so many people smoke weed. I mean, it's alright, but not that fun.

I understand what you mean. Usually I only smoke if I want to listen to music, had a bad day, pain reliever (mad headache right now), and when I want to party with friends. I'm usually a somewhat timid person but bud really helps me open up and meet new people

People can have different experiences of it, usually they relax more. Can be fun if with the right people.
