Tried weed for the first time last night, nothing special really imo.
Wait 'til about your third or fourth time, when you can take bigger hits.
Wait until you actually get high
I loved the first post here. Very well balanced and well sourced. I am a "stoner" if thats what you wanna call it. My mother works in accident and emergencey and says she has NEVER had an admition attributed to weed. Infat she has never even heard of one. However, the mental side of marijuana can be significant. Unfortunately i cant hear any arguments to the contrary because i suffer some mental side effects myself. I have a very badly reduced long term memory, and used to have fits of paranoia, which has subsided in recent years. However there are benificial medicinal qualities to weed. I used to suffer nightly insomnia and sleep paralysis, both have not only improved, but virtually dissapeared. As for the cancer side of things im not convinced, I think weed is worse, especially since many people smoke it with tobacco aswell. Indeed it was marijuana which started off my tobacco habit. And finally as for the myth that weed makes people lazy, and/or incompetant, i have been holding down a job as a desin engineer for 6 years now with a great employment record and attendace stats. PEOPLE can be lazy and incompetant, and some people let the drug rule their lives. This is a personality/psychological issue. As I said, Great OP.
Tried weed for the first time last night, nothing special really imo.
First time usually isn't that good for most people.
I personally hopes it stays illegal. I don't want to hear "Hey man I've smoked pot for the 28th this week!" Hopefully those people will end up choking on the black kunk building up in their lungs.
Just a question to other people that smoke, but has your memory and brain performance changed ever since you started smoking?
I find I am more creative than I was before. That's about it.

[editline]09:26AM[/editline]
Just a question to other people that smoke, but has your memory and brain performance changed ever since you started smoking?
Nope, although my memory was shit to begin with. I think it's due to prolonged sleep deprivation over many years.
Remember, Adverse mental effects come with time, and the amount you smoke. Iv been hitting it for a few years now. Im not a stand up loud and proud pothead by any means, but i have been doing it a while now. I dont preach that weed is awesome, and i dont suggest people start doing it. But I will say it is no better or worse than drinking, and smoking tobacco which i do in moderation. They all cost too much, all screw your body and mind up and they all should have the same legal state IMO. Regardless of what that status might be. EDIT: And hey Ambleu, maybe you just cant remember that your memroy was good ;-)

But to say at the least, if you do heaps of seshs during the school term, you will lose focus of school. And i know i have more confidence now since i started smoking.
How is weed in comparison to ecstasy
cannot be compared
Just a question to other people that smoke, but has your memory and brain performance changed ever since you started smoking?
I took the ACT three times. The first two times I got a composite score of 30. I started smoking weed literally the day I took it the second time. By the next test date I found that not only had my reading, grammar, mathematics and graph comprehension increased significantly, but I was in a far far far more stable and happy state of mind. The third time I got a 32. My grades and school attendance have improved, and now I'm looking forward to medical school. In the course of my school career I've met hundreds of people who smoke marijuana and whose lives are improved by it. I used it to pull myself out of depression and into the social limelight. I have more friends than I ever did before and make new ones the first time I meet them. I went from a fat, worthless, video game addicted shut-in to a popular, happy, healthy, creative and fully functional person. Posted at 4:20 Central US time. Smoke weed every day.
How is weed in comparison to ecstasy
They are completely different. Stick to the weed though.
Shouldn't weed be good for people with eating disorders? I don't know much about marijuana, but I got really really hungry and it felt like my blood sugar dropped to a zero when I used to get high. Anyone know any of this?

Fist time I tried it, I couldn't move and I couldn't move my eyes, then I ate a whole box of cookies and got sick. So I don't want to try it again soon.
I've heard that weed contains a fat dissolvant that goes into your brain, which consists of fat.
You weed users would cry if you saw what marijuana is treated like in India. Its treated like a weed(no pun intended) my parents bought some land there and they were clearing away a small field of it.
Stoners, Bake my ASS up
What do you mean by we would cry if we saw how it's treated?
They throw it away, it gets raked and trashed and just thrown away.

Did you guys also know that pot does less damage to you than alcohol does? Oh and The Govenator is trying to legalize it not just medically anymore. Oh and by the way im not against alcohol I think its just anther thing but as Bob Marley said. Herb is the healing of the nation while alcohol is destruction but that has really nothing to do with it. Pots great
