Please back up your claim instead of just spewing random bullshit with no evidence what so ever. Prove to me that marijuana kills brain cells with a proper article/study, and one that actually sites sources and methods. Well then if you think about it everything is artificial. Do you enjoy watching TV? Artificial. Video games? Artificial. Jacking off to porn? Artificial. Sorry to be blunt, but your argument sucks.
i got dumber after i started smoking weed, so it kills braincells. proof is there.
i got dumber after i started smoking weed, so it kills braincells. proof is there.
There was no difference in my intelligence after I started smoking weed, so it doesn't kill brain cells. Proof is there. [/undeniable-fact-based-proof]
soap, bud, pollen, all kinds of cannabis, very cheap aswell....
I'm Trying to grow it lol :350:
A question I have because I sorta skimmed the article: Does weed only kill your braincells due to all the other carcinogens you inhale while smoking? Or is it just from the THC alone. It seems it would be more safe to take the THC by some other way (ingestion or taking it in pill form) instead of smoking it, because obviously putting anything in your lungs other than oxygen is bad for it.
The withdrawel (if you happen to get it) can be mildly annoying, it's nothing bad though.

But yes there is healthier ways to take it: Eaten, Drank, Vaporized.
There is no withdrawal, there can be mental withdraw but not physical. Physical Withdrawal is the kind of shit people on heavy narcotics and opiates go through. Mental withdrawal can happen to a fat bitch trying to stop eating chocolate aswell as someone who loves weed trying to stop. Most of you Facepunchers have probably experienced it, ever had a powercut and your computer go off for about 9 hours? You know that itching sick feeling because you can't wack off and play CS. That's withdraw. Smoking doesn't cause damage to the brain even if it's tobacco, is causes damage to the respiratory system but that's aboouuuut it. Smoking joints is by far the most harmful method of smoking, then water filtering the carcinogens, then vaporising that bitch.
If weed was legal I'd either get a filter or just bake a whole shit load of cookies and cakes and stuff with weed in them, get high when you eat sounds like a fucking great plan.
There's one flaw edibles. The perpetual circle caused by munchies. You eat the brownies to get high, you get high, you get munchies, so you eat the brownies, so you get higher, repeat until you run out of brownies.
I smoke occasionally, but we always have a few simple rules. Never smoke while little kids are present. Never pressure anyone into doing it if they really don't want too. Never give weed to people who think weed makes you cool.
Quoted due to extreme coolness. Me and a few mates have considered smoking, and why shouldn't we? It's our own bloody choice.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7869709.stm Ow, my balls.
Cannabis can make people physcotic if their depressed and if they keep smoking it things can get bad like you start getting depressed.
It seems to make me loose paranoia,
Both sides are spilling propaganda. While weed might not be as dangerous as said, the feeling of being high is caused by poisons in marijuana. The good feeling is because the poison effecs your brains. Of course, you most likely won't take amounts that can kill you. But as for my opinion, weed is just waste of money. I don't need such things to fight my depression. Some say that weed helps depression, but I say it's bullshit. It might you make feel good or happy for a while, but what after you run out of the weed? Get some more? You just should seek out for professional help if you have depression, not smoke weed.
Doesn't kill brain cells, try again.
As I said the poison contained by cannabis effects your brains. Saying that it helps to fight cancer is also meaning that braincells might be also affected along with cancer-cells.

So does water. So does oxygen.
People have recently been talking nonstop about marijuana being harmless. My brother smokes alot of marijuana and his life is fucking ruined. So i'm not touchign this stuff.
This happens BECAUSE IT'S ILLEGAL. Legalize it and people will stop having their lives ruined by the legal system.
I agree with last_apoc. I really don't think that it causes 0 deaths either, as THC is pretty dangerous after a whole bunch is staying in your system.
The lethal dosage for humans (scaled up from rats) is 1500 pounds of marijuana inhaled in 15 minutes. I wish I could get the opportunity to try that.
This is like saying water is poisonous because yes, if you drink enough, you can get water poisoning.
I think you missed my point. Water itself doesn't contain poison, but drinking too much water can kill you. While marijuana is itself slightly poisonous, effecting the brains. Also taking too great amounts can kill you.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7869709.stm Ow, my balls.
Combat it by wanking alot :D

It is physically impossible to overdose on marijuana. http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/library/mj_overdose.htm
4. Nearly all medicines have toxic, potentially lethal effects. But marijuana is not such a substance. There is no record in the extensive medical literature describing a proven, documented cannabis-induced fatality. 5. This is a remarkable statement. First, the record on marijuana encompasses 5,000 years of human experience. Second, marijuana is now used daily by enormous numbers of people throughout the world. Estimates suggest that from twenty million to fifty million Americans routinely, albeit illegally, smoke marijuana without the benefit of direct medical supervision. Yet, despite this long history of use and the extraordinarily high numbers of social smokers, there are simply no credible medical reports to suggest that consuming marijuana has caused a single death. 6. By contrast aspirin, a commonly used, over-the-counter medicine, causes hundreds of deaths each year.
Do your self a favour and read through 4-16 on the link i've posted. Not to mention the fact that alcohol, or any other mind altering substance (even plenty of medications) are considered 'poison'.
I agree with last_apoc. I really don't think that it causes 0 deaths either, as THC is pretty dangerous after a whole bunch is staying in your system. The only reason that people even try these damn drugs is because the health classes and other school/government owned things ham it up really bad. "Oh, weed is bad for you and one time can and will kill you 100% of the time hurrrrrr". That's not what we need, we need the real facts, and then people can decide for themselves if it's worth it. It's not in most cases, but in weed's case it is.
Actually THC is one of the least toxic chemicals known to man and there are no recorded deaths from it. [editline]03:33PM[/editline]
however, once its made legal it will be uncontrolled. everyone will do it.
Somebody else with astounding logic... Why don't you look up drug use rates in the Netherlands where it is the closest to being legal out of anywhere in the world... US still wins with flying colours, prohibition is more dangerous than the plant.
This happens BECAUSE IT'S ILLEGAL. Legalize it and people will stop having their lives ruined by the legal system.
He didn't say legally. BUT HEY, THAT DOES NOT MATTER BECAUSE I WANT CANNABIS LEGALISED BECAUSE I'M A CUNT FUCK SHIT I AM STILL PISSED OFF ABOUT THE FUCKING JONAS BROTHERS TWITTER TOPIC AND CUTTING MY ACHILLES' TENDON.
BRAIN CELLS ARE NOT REPLACED THAT IS WHY BRAIN DAMAGE IS PERMANENT. i
lol do you think dope kills brain cells?? "Myth: Pot kills brain cells Government experts now admit that pot doesn't kill brain cells.(8) This myth came from a handful of animal experiments in which structural changes (not actual cell death, as is often alleged) were observed in brain cells of animals exposed to high doses of pot. Many critics still cite the notorious monkey studies of Dr. Robert G. Heath, which purported to find brain damage in three monkeys that had been heavily dosed with cannabis.(9) This work was never replicated and has since been discredited by a pair of better controlled, much larger monkey studies, one by Dr. William Slikker of the National Center for Toxicological Research(10) and the other by Charles Rebert and Gordon Pryor of SRI International.(11) Neither found any evidence of physical alteration in the brains of monkeys exposed to daily doses of pot for up to a year. Human studies of heavy users in Jamaica and Costa Rica found no evidence of abnormalities in brain physiology.(12) Even though there is no evidence that pot causes permanent brain damage, users should be aware that persistent deficits in short-term memory have been noted in chronic, heavy marijuana smokers after 6 to 12 weeks of abstinence.(13) It is worth noting that other drugs, including alcohol, are known to cause brain damage." http://paranoia.lycaeum.org/marijuana/facts/mj-health-mythology.html#myth12 Turns out that when they forced the monkeys to breathe the smoke they forgot to let oxygen into the face masks as well, d'oh.
you're going to die if those cells are allowed to mutate into cancerous lumps of fuck.
This. and it is absolutely hilarious that alcohol is legal yet marijuana isn't. But I'm pretty sure the U.S. Government is in the process of legalizing it?
Ok let's just go through this at the most basic fucking level so hopefully you can understand. First of all. Had marijuana not been illegal It would not have been demonized by our schools. Had marijuana been still legal then people would not have so many fucking misconceptions. Do you want to know what changed the public's in america's opinion about marijuana? This fucking movie when it came out: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6696582420128930236 Here is a bit of history for you. http://www.videosift.com/video/Grass-History-of-Marijuana-Documentary If you won't listen to our facts at least realize what ridiculousness started this whole fucking argument.
People have recently been talking nonstop about marijuana being harmless. My brother smokes alot of marijuana and his life is fucking ruined. So i'm not touchign this stuff.
Have you ever thought he ruined his own life so started to smoke weed as an escape? I know lawyers, salesmen, and even a judge, heck my own dad that's on £58,000 a year smokes the stuff.
If you won't listen to our facts
Oh the irony... Medical Terms: Apoptosis, Anadnamide, and hepatocytes. Do you remember them?
I may not be adding anything to discussion, but because im like really a lot high ri9ght now pot's really good amazing *goes back to listening to music*
I may not be adding anything to discussion, but because im like really a lot high ri9ght now pot's really good amazing *goes back to listening to music*
Not sure if this is a troll or not since I can type fine while baked, get out of here.
Not sure if this is a troll or not since I can type fine while baked, get out of here.
I can, but I'm usually to lazy to. walking up stairs is walking up a mountain when you're stoned
While marijuana is itself slightly poisonous, effecting the brains. Also taking too great amounts can kill you.
The amount that it takes to kill you is so obscenely huge that, by that logic, thousands of everyday things that humans consume or expose themselves to should be considered poisons.
He didn't say legally. BUT HEY, THAT DOES NOT MATTER BECAUSE I WANT CANNABIS LEGALISED BECAUSE I'M A CUNT
Calm down and try to make a little sense if you want to debate.
