Guy plays two of the hardest songs on Rock Band using a stock drum kit

I never played Rock Band.
What's the significance of the stock controller? Are you not meant to be able to beat the game with the controller they give you?
The challenge with stock kits isn't the difficulty of the chart, it's the fact that the stock kits are notoriously bad for dropped hits, double hits, phantom hits, you name it and stock kits do it.

They are, he's just put foam over the pads to increase stick bounce. The kit itself is still the stock kit, whether or not you put foam over the pads
Fuck I missed this, nevermind.
mania is a joke lmao it has no anti-mash
[editline]20th November 2016[/editline]
i know its mania but jhlee is still insane

If you're gonna whine about mashing then why post a song where the hard bits are all mashing. I could do 90% of that map and I'm not that good at Mania.
Sern aint mash. Accuracy at the bottom right next to the score board shows how many of his hits are dead on and which are only slightly off.

mostly to see if anyone would actually call me out on it
The actual death waltz sounds nothing like it, it's more of a stage play than a song, no idea why people started calling UN owen was her, death waltz, I guess it started by them having the same title of being unplayable by human hands by people who play those beat games.
it's because the song became viral way back when someone uploaded a MIDI keyboard video on youtube of U.N. Owen Was Her with the title saying it was John Stump's Death Waltz, and that's where lots of people heard it for the first time (me included) and thought it actually was Death Waltz
As with any rhythm game you are building up muscle memory over time and get the ability to "read" songs.
You actually never memorize a song fully, at most difficult parts but the rest really is just muscle memory.
In a lot of rhythm games most parts of a beatmap consist of more or less the same parts and repeats, its not as random as things look.
There are some that goes pretty random though.

as a reference, this is the not so random one from the same game.
I have no doubt that I would probably suck at those Japanese games but I do wanna try em. I wish we had cool arcades over here instead of the same racing car and house of the dead shit you see everywhere.
Get one of the Beatmania USA Playstation 2 controllers and a USB adapter for it. Then you can play Lunatic Rave 2, which is essentially a Beatmania clone down to even the smallest details. It's all entirely free and legal to download, but then you have to find the songs/charts to play in it. Those aren't available publicly so you could purchase a copy of the game and rip the songs yourself or find freely made charts uploaded by someone on the internet.

My addiction's been drum and bass, and this tune sounds pretty cool. Is there anywhere where I can find just the track?

It's funny how true this is.. I used to play guitar intensely, and now I pick my 7-string up on occasion and can still play the entirety of Master of Puppets (Metallica) and Polaris (The Human Abstract) as well as a few other songs.
Could I tell you what frets to hit at what times? probably not.
if we're just posting whatever rhythm game shit in here, then here's probably my favorite accomplishment i've seen done

it may not look like much just from the video, but this song is 32 minutes long and filled with crazy shit

Wasn't there a video of someone smashing his screen with his keyboard for missing a note then showed all the damage he did to his walls over time because of this game?
