Bitch works fine for me
that's probably why you dont have a girlfriend
My husband also call me "Baby", and I think when one person call another adult "baby", which means "love" or"sweet", it shows they fall in love.
It's just also used as slang in modern western culture and stuff, signifying a significant other or someone you might care for
Beat me to it.
It's like Brit slang "Mate"
I'm not mating with them
baby baby oOoooOh
Fortunately, I heard that in the Heavy's voice...
I have a friend whose girlfriend calls him dad....now tell me that isnt awkward...
That's not awkward, as long as the two are cultured or the girl is in some way. Some cultures refer to their husband/wife as dad/mom, which is just a reflection of family titles that the entire family uses. In this instance, it's the same thing, but more of a play on cultured titles, as they may be too young to start a family.
Maybe it's to describe the attractive female as being "young, soft and smooth, while also being sweet and innocent."
But that's just me.
I have a friend whose girlfriend calls him dad....now tell me that isnt awkward...
We use to have this "Family" Game in Middle school. Apparently I was this girls dad, so she constantly called me "Daddy".
Parents who are overprotective of their kid are likely to think of them as their baby. As far as boyfriend girlfriend stuff, I can see it starting off as a substitute for "cute" and "I care about you". Even if it doesn't make that much sense, if enough people start using it, it'll seems to make sense and nobody really questions it.
I use "babe" most and only use "baby" if I feel like I'm saying "babe" too much. I use the word in that context because my girlfriend does, and most others do as well.

"Hey baby... how ya doin'? Maybe if you was a little prettier then someone would buy you a drink.."
Goose? You call your girlfriend goose?
I bet she calls him Maverick.
It feels wrong to call your gf "hun" unless you're married.
Or possibly steppe nomads.
I always thought calling my girlfriends "baby" would be wierd, but I call my current girlfriend baby all the time and it's not akward at all. I have no idea why I do it though

Bruce Springsteen constantly uses the term 'little girl' in his songs.
I wish he would stop.

The man loves little girls, what's wrong with that?
'Sup babe, gimme 'yo ass and i'll be happy.
It's like saying "honey", "plum cake" and stuff like that. Baby refers to the cuteness of a child.
It's better than the French. They say all kinds of weird shit.
ma biche (my doe)
ma caille (my quail)
mon canard (my duck)
mon chaton (my kitten)
ma chatte (my cat)
mon chou (my cabbage)
mon cochon (my pig)
mon coco (my egg)
ma cocotte (my hen)
ma puce (my flea)
Mon poulet (my chicken)
It's kinda the same thing as calling your girlfriend "Mama", though that's mainly ghetto speak and stuff :v:
And why do people say "old lady" when referring to their girlfriend or wife?
And why do people say "old lady" when referring to their girlfriend or wife?
I've never heard that, I've heard old lady and old man when talking about parents but never girlfriend nor wife.
This is one of those things that only happen around people who have English as their mother language.
Saying "Baby" in my language in that context would make me sound like a fucking mental patient.
It's a saying, like ass. An ass is a donkey, but it has a different meaning. Just like schwanz in German. It literally means 'tail' but it's slurred into 'dick.'
hate to be a dickhead about this, but ass is an americanisation of the english 'arse', which means hind-quarters.
