why didn't he just predict the lottery for himself so he doesnt have to make any more programmes
Ah i see.. and i didnt bothered texting in.. which one was the mirror and box one? I tuned in 10 minutes late
In the Box one he had a large box in the centre and on top of it was a brick. He asked two people to try and lift up the box and tell him how many bricks where IN the box. He gave them the brick that was on top so they could feel it and get used to the weight. Then they lifted it up. They couldn't. They guessed it had 100 bricks in it. So he said when he clicks his fingers it will get lighter. So he clicked his fingers and it got lighter and they lifted it up higher. Clicked his fingers again. lifted it higher again. Clicked his fingers again. lifted it higher again. Clicked his fingers again. lifted it higher again. evntually they lifted it above their heads. Then he said he would click his fingers and the weight would return. He clicked his fingers and they could no longer support it. Then he said "That was propaganda" and he took the box and opened it to show how many bricks where in it. Their was no bricks inside. The Mirror one was when he was in the cafe and he made the guy steal a TV [editline]11:25AM[/editline]
why didn't he just predict the lottery for himself so he doesnt have to make any more programmes
You're both, Late, Bad Reading and dumb. Late = That show was weeks ago Bad Reading = Somebody already said he is not aloud to play the Lottery in england. Also you haven't read the last few pages or you would realise how late you are. You didn't even read the OP. Dumb = For scoring two negative ratings in one post. Shit. I don't know what to give you.
Nobody says "concentric" in daily use, and much less know what it actually means...that show was ridiculous. 'Alright then draw something random. Go on, anything! Ok now here's some drawings I did earl- I mean uhh..the crowd here drew. Draw one of them like..I don't know maybe CONCENTRIC CIRCLES or one of these other significantly more complex and unlikely drawings. But it's still random! Because I haven't shown you any drawings to lead you on, or anything like that, right? Right. Also - text us on this premium line....'
He influences people. The circles..he must have met the woman before and influenced her on the circles. All the circles around the museum would have had an effect. And its so obvious now how he influenced the public and the people there.

In other news. I been studying his tricks. I know how the people who couldn't stand up got stuck. I asked my niece to try it out. She was hardcore stuck. Or so she thought. She was leaned back in the chair and trying to use her arms to push herself directly up without leaning forwards. She was putting all her strength into leaning back without realising. It's impossible to stand up like that. So I looked at her feet. They where relaxed, she was putting no weight on them. I studied my nephew after and then myself and found the same results. I can now say I know how it works. He asks you to lean back. This already makes it more difficult to stand. He asks you to keep your head still. He asks you not to move. He asks you to make sure you feel where "Your arms and body contact the chair". At this stage you are concentrating on key things: - Not moving - Staying back - Your arms When he tells you to stand up your mind is still concentrating on your arms. You have 'forgotten' how to stand up. Normally you would just lean forward and use your feet to raise yourself. Your arms just support you. But in this case you are trying to use your arms in place of your feet and forgetting to lean forward. Which is why the instruction to break free is "Lean forward, congratulations" Now if you are a hard-core Derren fan and not at all sceptical you are more stuck because you have taken his word for it. A man who can greatly influence the way people think has just told you that you can no longer stand. You believe him. This belief/propaganda is keeping you in your chair. A subconscious desire to not be disappointed and at the same time be utterly willing. Now my niece mixed both the above. Meaning that the instuctions didn't help. It took Derren to literally tell he she could now move. Propaganda and carelessness are Derrens keys, all it takes is a simple sitting position in complete stillness for 60 seconds and a wee bit of suggestion for you to completely loose your track of thought and fuck yourself over.
^ Rated informative. I haven't seen an explanation nearly as good as that before.

Also notice how the majority of things drawn were circles, even the picture we wanted to screw up the results was the circular FP logo. It was all done by Derren Brown suggesting a picture to the woman and then to the rest of the viewing public.
I drew a man shaking hands with another man in a wheel chair.
At first I drew a load of random shapes. Then I drew a pipe gushing water and an archway, to the right and below the archway I drew 2 concentric circles with a dot in the middle. I watched some of it again and there were quite a few circles about the place, in her eyes, on the wall, etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_2BHkCX2YE If you listen I think he puts emphasis on the "OLE" part of "Soul" about 20 seconds in. Although I don't know why because by this time everyone has drawn their pictures. Maybe I just picked an innocent emphasis.
Wall de text
Hey I'm not ripping on him. He's freaking clever however he did it, I'm just saying..I lost some of my faith in his ability to keep it quiet.
You're just sad because it didn't work for you.
This is also funny because I don't remember trying it. Thanks for the tip, though >.>
His lottery trick has sort of destroyed him for me. Instead of being a good manipulator, he's just "that guy who said the lottery numbers, after the lottery numbers".
Dan2593: Thank you so much! You're right, if you read what I said about getting stuck, I said how much I hurt my wrist trying to stand, and I can remember...there was no pressure on my legs at all. Thank you.

I'm sure. And anyway, I'd use my fingers to masturbate, not my wrist.
If Derren didn't know what it was, how did he know about the Stonehenge thing?
If Derren didn't know what it was, how did he know about the Stonehenge thing?
He influenced her in some way. Then he influenced the studio audience in the same way. He didn't "know" what it was but he had a damn good idea
Anyone just watched the casino one? I'm still laughing
Yea, one complete fail.
The guys face was priceless.
Sorry, i'll give you your money back *credits* Smugfag got owned
"Don't worry mate, we'll get your 5 grand"
I think it was planned. The acting was so wooden. Plus the casino was too quiet. Was it some sort of casino-library hybrid? Note the advert for his site about debunking the paranormal - I think this 'failure' was just to attract more people to that.
I am so damn confused, he has genuine amazing talent and chooses to ignore it and gamble on tv. This makes no sense.
