FUCK I have forgotten everything. I remember there was a cat, and a mouse. But I couldn't tell you what happened in a full sentence. I saw several forgets.
Me too :ohdear: I feel like I can remember it but there's actually no words in my head, just pictures of random bits. I saw it once before but it was just as much fun this time because I somehow managed to...FORGET Edit:
Mind blown [editline]12:12AM[/editline] I still saw no forgets
The messages were in his live show (repeated) "The Gathering", not in the lottery thing, if that's what you mean.
IS there a youtube video of the gathering? Cause I'm a stupid Amerifag and I don't get BBC, all I get is BBC America, which sucks.
It is channel 4 not BBC. Might be able to use a proxy and get on 4od.

But the lack of live audience does make it suspicious
Why didn't he buy a goddamn lottery ticket!
Banned from doing so
No fucking waaaay. It's rigged in some way, that or clever camera trickery that someone could place the balls in the stand quickly.
I'm a magician myself and the first thing you do is to look at the "Convincers" or quite the opposite, when a magician says "You have the envelope, theres no way I can know whats in there" thats what you call a "convincer' in the magic trade. Derrens first convincer (or more accuratley in this case) his excuse "I cant show them, untill the BBC does" theres the trick right there, noone could have gambled or bet on the lottery a few seconds before the draw, so that was nonsense, no matter what the bbc 'apparently' demanded. its just a case of working out what happened between the draw and the reveal. Remember Derren Brown is a hypnotist and illusionist (you should read the devils picturebook by derren) the showmanship is the most important thing, as for his Neuro-linguistic programming is very very simplified. work out what his convincer was and youll have it.
This reminds me of an episode of Colombo How a magician is a trickster and a psychic is a fraud.
The video where he is walking backward, makes my head hurt, cause, there is more then just him walking backward in that video, weather you play it forward or backward, some one is talking backward and someone is walking backward, there is one chick talking on her phone and she walking out of the shot backward, then into the shot, then back out, also, for this to have worked more then just people would have to have been going backward, like the cars and stuff to. [editline]09:01PM[/editline] Also, oh god, wat is this, I don't even http://retsehcnamdetinu.com/
It's impossible. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=679101
Duh
It was an amazing show! Didn't make a single mistake! WOW!
Just saw The Gathering Mind blown [editline]10:38AM[/editline] What else of Derren Browns stuff should I watch ?
I could be wrong but my thesis is that the lottery numbers were pre-recorded and only important people on this show were told. That's the only way it could have happened IMO. Still, impressive to trick so many people.
So in The Gathering it was FORGET that kept flashing up on the walls/stage? I thought it said FOREST lmao
I don't think it's that impressive at all. The jerky movement of the camera and lack of a live audience gave it away. Once Derren moved over to the right hand side of our tv, the left hand portion of the broadcast was frozen. (this still image was moved in time with the camera man' s movement to make it look live) Once this was frozen, an acaccomplice was then free to place the balls in position on the stand as they were drawn live, free from our view. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHZ2mQczkcg - notice how at 5:08 the camera stops moving.
49! -------- ~ 14,000,000 43!x6!
But he got the bonus ball correct, so that would actually be 49!/(42!7!)... which gives a number with a decimal place, oddly. Wait, is the bonus ball drawn from a different set of balls? I wasn't really paying too much attention and I don't really pay attention to the lottery. Perhaps the balls had tiny LED screens on them or something, and as they were drawn someone input the numbers and they were displayed on the balls.

I doubt he would do it in this because then his show on friday would only last like 10 minutes.
So in The Gathering it was FORGET that kept flashing up on the walls/stage? I thought it said FOREST lmao
Forest :P
Yeah it's not his style to use camera trickery/cgi/swap the balls. That wouldn't be exciting and would just make him seem like a fraud.
What other Derren Brown should I watch ?

Thing that was pissing me off was that words kept flashing on the screen.
What other Derren Brown should I watch ?
Watch The Heist, it's pretty good you can watch it on 4oD. Won't tell you the details because its just better to watch it.
thing that was pissing me off was that words kept flashing on the screen.
forget
Psychics don't exist, it's an attractive concept, but the only *Real* attractive concept about it is all the idiots who will believe it and give your ass a shitload of money Think about it, The bigger the load of bullshit something is, the more people seem to believe it
Who's going to watch? I love Derren Brown because he doesn't do cold reading and pretend he's got bullshit psychic powers; he's going to tell us how he did it in the first episode of his new show The Event on Friday. I saw a show of his where he did the classic "ask the audience to pick a number, you've got the number written in an envelope" but then he told us that he'd been seeding the numbers throughout the show under his breath and such. He's awesome. Details: 10.35pm, just 10 minutes long, and it's on all C4 channels at once - Channel 4, More4 and E4. I don't have any doubt that he'll manage it; he's gonna be sure he can do it before he does a widely advertised TV appearance.
You mean all FOUR C4 channels - you missed out Film4 [editline]01:56PM[/editline]
But since when do Channel 4 and the BBC work together on anything at all? :P
BBC pretty much own Channel 4. When people pay for tv licenses, the money funds the BBC which a small majority of it funds Channel 4 too. BBC see C4 as the 'teenage' version of their own.
I was watching so hard for anything odd, like the balls moving or something, only strange thing was when they were revealed he was very still. Might have something to do with it.
Guessing they replaced the left half with footage that covered the original live broadcast of the number balls? I wouldn't be surprised at some point of the broadcast, you'd see a little hiccup of change on that left side. [editline]02:05PM[/editline] Yeah, around 5:09 the camera holts completely still with Derren moving on the right side, when I saw it I could instantly recognize it was a camera trick.
