Derren Brown predicts the lottery draw live tonight - General

All of Derren Brown's reputation rests on this trick so I doubt it will be a simple camera trick. Although in The Heist (put in spoilers as it is a great show and you should watch it before reading this): [sp] When he seemed to get 10 heads in a row it is simply filmed until he gets them and then cuts off the start. That is sort of camera trickery. Hope it is not something like that.[/sp]

Let's remember that he supposedly spent a year studying lotto outcomes. So in theory if you spent a year doing that you could have a good crack at guessing them. But then again, each ball has as equal chance to come up as any other so... I'm confused.

I'm confused.[/QUOTE] yeah, studying the lotto numbers won't help you one bit, there is absoloutley no pattern to it and after every draw the odds for each ball are reset, it's like if you flip a coin and it lands heads 19 times, you are still exactley as likely to get a tails the next time you flip it as you are heads, so that rules out the possibility.

Derren Brown is an illusionist who uses careful trickery to fool you. He's not just gonna go "okay so just split screen it and it'll be fine i'll look so clever ^.^"

I refuse to believe he'd sink as low as a camera trick.

You don't know when he's doing clever mind tricks or when he does something really simple. They froze one side of the screen and added a fake camera shake, at one point it briefly freezes because they turned off the fake camera shake before removing the overlay.

I am still amazed he managed to memorize the A-Z of London.

Also for anyone who watched The Gathering, did you notice how whenever he told the audiences to write answers down on a piece of paper, after the trick, said paper was never referred to again ? That's how he does it. Watch it.
