I'm confused. I'm watching the first series again and it's started off with all 3 of them knowing each other. I could've sworn there were episodes where it's just George and Mitchell and how they went into the house and found a ghost. I don't know if I've just got the episodes labelled wrong or something.
Yeah, there's a pilot episode where they move into the house, you might be thinking of that. I don't tend to go over that one, I dislike that Annie and Mitchell are played by different actors, but I guess it's worth a watch.
That's weird, I don't remember the actors being different.
That's weird, I don't remember the actors being different.
Yep:
The pilot episode starred Guy Flanagan as Mitchell the vampire, Andrea Riseborough as Annie the ghost that was killed by her boyfriend Owen and Russell Tovey as George the werewolf, as well as featuring Adrian Lester as Herrick (the vampire leader and main antagonist of Series One) and Dominique McElligott as the recent vampire convert Lauren (converted by Mitchell). With the exception of George, these parts were recast when the series went into full production.
Good old Wikipedia.

Urgh. Just stumbled across the mention of this year's Canadian remake. Why can't the US/Canada leave our TV shows alone?!
-bump - The date's out. Series 3 will air on the 23rd January, and a shitload of spoilers were released with the presspack.
It was ok. I mean, the plot is good, but the acting has a lot to be desired.
23-01-11.
Be there.
I'm not so sure about that internet spin-off though, I'm worried it'll end up being cheesy. The main vampire in it, I've seen in other things, and he's okay, and I haven't seen him on air in a few years, but as I recall, he wasn't the greatest actor in the world...
Goddamn, still got to wait 10 days for it to start.
The US version airs on monday. Not sure what I think of it, from the previews. But if it does air over here in the UK, I'll give it a shot.
All I'm wondering is, [sp]how the fuck Annie gets out of purgatory.[/sp]
Well, there's a LOT of spoilers in the press pack they released. If anyone's curious, I'll type a few cryptically for you, I don't want to be the one to ruin things for anyone.
[sp]Annie will be back by the end of episode one, and is rescued by someone we know.
Mitchell is given an ominous sentence.
Herrick isn't the same as before.
We will meet a werewolf family.[/sp]
And yeah, I'm not sure if I'll be convinced by the US one. I think what's irritated me about it is how they seem to have stuck to the premise of the original doggedly. What's the point of a remake if it's going to be quite literally exactly the same? Might as well watch what's already made.
I'm thinking of starting to watch the US one, partly because I haven't seen the first 2 seasons, and the US actors are better looking imo.
CANNOT WAIT

Leave.
Finally the actual preview trailer is out. It's looking great, but it's going to drive me mad waiting for Sunday now.
-thread bump-
Woah. That was amazing. Let's hope it's started like it means to go on.
Great start to the third season. Been watching it since the pilot. It's a brilliant idea and has to be one of my favourite TV shows at the moment.
A fag-pire, furry, and a ghost. I don't think I would get into this one.

Yeah, I thought that too. But this series doesn't make a big deal about what they are so much as the social/mental effects of it. The writing is good, don't let all that Twilight shite turn you away from some good tv.
I liked it...
Nice to see they [sp]got Annie back.[/sp]

Yeah, it wouldn't have been the same without her. I just wonder what sort of role she'll have in this series, it looks as though it's going to be pretty werewolf-oriented.
Mitchell dies, becomes a ghost, gets with Annie. I can sort of see that happening.

I'd really rather Mitchell didn't have to die properly at all :/

Unless this is a finale series then I doubt he will. Without him it would kind of defeat the point.

Yeah, but the press pack hints have looked pretty ominous, and Lia's prediction will have to come true somehow, otherwise it won't really be a prediction...
Didn't you notice the spike that that guy and his son had?
[sp]Thats going to kill him...[/sp]

I hadn't thought about it like that. I assumed it would sort of been like how George killed Herrick...

[sp]Herrick isn't dead though...[/sp]
[sp]Lia said that he would die by a "Wolf Shaped Bullet", I think its the spike that those other werewolfs had.[/sp]
[sp]Herrick isn't dead though...[/sp]
I know. So this sort of gives me hope that even if the worst happens, it won't perhaps be a true end. However, I've heard that [sp]Herrick is going to be really different when he comes back.[/sp]
I used to watch this, but then BBC3 got the better of it and it turned into really weird porn. Does series 3 still have gratuitous sex scenes?
[editline]27th January 2011[/editline]
Also that series 1 reveal that Annie was killed by her boyfriend was ridiculously obvious. I figured it out from like the 2nd episode, and so did everyone else I knew who watched it. The fact that they treated it as a massive surprise was pretty insulting, to be honest.

Yes. Yes it does. But the writing gets better too, so I think it sort of balances out.
As for the Annie thing, I thought it was the point that the audience understood who killed her before she did. She was in denial, and willing to do anything else but believe what had happened (denying and evading the truth would have been habit if she was a long way into an abusive relationship).
