[sp]So they scrapped the entirety of Becoming Human? fucking hell. it was low budget but still rather good.[/sp]
[sp]I don't care either way, i just don't like the character, hes a chavy vampire... [/sp]
Because it's awful and the UK version is far superior.
Sorry but no. It's very easy to just assume this is the case, but it's not. I watched both first seasons. The US one is better. The UK one has some inherent flaws from being so short. Everything feels brushed over and rushed. The US one has the benefit of being longer, as well as introducing a lot of things that are actually very interesting and creative the UK version does not have. It also has much better characterization. Don't forget that it shares some of the same writers, and benefits heavily from fixing what the UK version could have done a lot better. Plus the vampire doesn't fucking wear hobo gloves and terrible sports jackets. Yeah it's a bit americanized, but not in any way that detracts from the show. Overall it has much better characters who are more fleshed out, better side plots, much more interesting events, an insanely better werewolf transformation, less hard to look at actors, and is just overall a much better product. As good as the UK version is, the US one is a much improved on series. Everything essential is still there, and more (more stuff that is actually good). So before you prejudge it to be bad just because it's the US version, actually give it a chance without preconceived notions that it will be bad. It's actually not. Plus it has the same creators and at least one of the same writers. It's just a better version of the show, and there's been more of it so far in two seasons that the uk has in four. Especially if you like your tv shows to take up more time, the US version is great. [editline]5th March 2012[/editline] One thing though, is the US version has pretty terrible music in it. But it's a good trade off for a better show overall.
I would bring up Torchwood, but I'll leave it...

But after this new series which is being aired right now Being Human UK may as well be canceled, it's so uninteresting and the new characters are dull, and I really miss the old actors, they had some pretty funny moments and seemed to work well together. The US version I would say is pretty good in comparison now.
If you're comparing the US version to series 1 then you should be ashamed good sir.
If you're comparing the US version to series 1 then you should be ashamed good sir.
I'm comparing it to Being Human UK as a whole. I really liked Series 1-3 but Series 4 has literally taken a shit all over it. There's just no reason to carry on watching anymore, it's become less of a really dark kind of drama to a soap opera with a dark undertone. and if you compare the UK vs US as a WHOLE, I would say they're pretty even right now in terms of quality.
If you're comparing the US version to series 1 then you should be ashamed good sir.
Have you actually seen both in their entirety? It's the same storyline but the US version has more to it. It's absolutely not worse in terms of writing and dialogue. I mean it's what you would expect, but it's not the case. It's very well written and keeps you incredibly interested. [editline]6th March 2012[/editline] plus Aidan is the fuckin bomb, especially in the 20's/30's
Started watching the second series of the US Being Human, and I've noticed why I find the UK's series more likable. It's almost relate-able in a silly way and the actors just seem perfect for the roles (regardless whether you find them hard to look at Rusty). Plus scenes like this that have proper humour, instead of the American one where the humour isn't so interwoven with the show. Also Being Human US is a lot more sexual. I mean theres lots of sexual stuff in the UK one but I'm pretty sure the American one is wayyyy more. I mean Nora woke up naked after an incestuous wolf threesome.
what??? in the us version? there was absolutely no threesome nor was one implied i think you got sex on the mind, you always wake up naked after the transformation
what??? in the us version? there was absolutely no threesome nor was one implied i think you got sex on the mind, you always wake up naked after the transformation
I think it's just the way the UK one showed the "Sex drive" and how the wolf is a p.sex hungry thing when it comes to mates, so I moved that over to the US one and when they all wake up naked and she looks lovingly over towards them it was just a "woah oh" moment for me. The second season really picked the show up for me, much better written and it's doing more of it's own thing now which is cool. Although Nora's a bitch.
Is the plot of the US version significantly different or is it basically the same as the UK one?
first season is the same storyline, season 2 deviates
first season is the same storyline, season 2 deviates
How strictly do they keep to the original plot in the first season? Is it basically the same all the way through or does it do it's own thing but end up with the same conclusion?
there are quite a few major differences, different characters, different subplots, etc. it's only the main archs that are the same. but theres a lot of differences in them still.

I don't like the actor who plays the vampire though so it's putting me off a little.
Anywhere i can watch all the US season?

But in the second series there are like checkpoints where you will recognise it from the UK version, but what's inbetween these stories is new.

Yeah when I first saw Aiden in the US series (I haven't watched the UK version so I didn't know what to expect of the show) I was worried he looked a little too similar to the ideal square-chinned handsome vampire dude that would get them lots of lady viewers, but as it turns out I actually really rather like the actor and his character. I guess because of the simultaneous involvement of vampires and werewolves in this show I was afraid it was gonna turn me off the way True Blood did with all the obvious capitalizing on recent vampire/werewolf relationship hysteria that Twilight caused. It had good parts but jesus in an hour long episode does 3/4ths of it have to be about relationships with vampires and shirtless werewolf men. But anyway, this show's p good. It didn't make me feel like a teenage girl when I was watching it so that's good.
i like the actor and character a lot, the whole show is basically about him
what??? hes literally the best [editline]8th March 2012[/editline] did u know he played the main character and palpatine in the force unleashed
I didn't know about Palpatine, but I did know it was him as the main bloke. I didn't like that character.
[sp]Well the latest US episode was surprisingly twisted.[/sp]
[sp]Well the latest US episode was surprisingly twisted.[/sp]
Oh shit, I forgot to watch it. Thank god for DVR
Well, the latest UK episode was just fucking glorious.
I was right on my thoery :D
I was right on my thoery :D
I didn't even realise it was a mystery. As soon as she killed herself I thought we were meant to know she was Eve.
