Maybe they just aren't to your taste, I find them hilarious.
When I first heard of Deadpool a while back I was like "What a spider-man ripoff?"
Then I read some of his comics.
Spider-man made me chuckle now and then.
Deadpool made me laugh my fucking ass off.
And watching that video posted a while ago of the cartoon, my voice and speech patterns are naturally just like his in that.

Deadpool was shown on the latest Castle. It was the January '97 1st Edition.
I've got all of Deadpool and Cable and loved it, and I have the 6 volumes by Daniel Way. I'm wondering what other ones I should get.

Deadpool is pretty awful.
Mediocre to terrible writing covered up by pop culture references and "random" humor, complete lack of originality when it comes down to the design of the character(it doesn't take a genius to notice that the guy is obviously a ripoff of Spider-Man and Deathstroke), consistently mixed to negative reviews of the books, and yet Deadpool is still one of the hottest, if not THE hottest Marvel character of the last 5 or so years.

Yeah but Ultimatum also killed off Cyclops, Daredevil, Dr. Doom and Professor X so I think the death of Wolverine had less to do with the character being unpopular and more with Jeph Loeb being insane.

The point of the humor isn't randomness = funny, its Deadpool = idiot. Thus, he would use memes. Thats what makes it funny, hes an idiot. He tries to do things, and fails miserably at them. Point in case, using memes. Also, if you would read Deadpool classic, it shows how he actually has an intelligent well developed backstory. Its just that the current writers dont fucking know how to do that. And yes, he did start off as a Deathstroke ripoff. But he did, infact evolve into a well developed character.

That's... still not quite right. The joke comes from the fact that (originally) he was a parody of Liefeld's characters. Thus, dumb, non-sensical one liners and self-referential humor.
