I've wanted to get into deadpool for longest time, so I just ordered 2 volumes off of Amazon.
Hey I want to get into dead pool but what issue should I start on? I could see starting with he first one ever made but I don't know.

Any issue. They all sum it up quite good. For me, I started with Cable Vs Deadpool. I recommend it.

[editline]16th February 2011[/editline] http://www.amazon.com/Deadpool-Classic-Vol-Fabian-Nicieza/dp/0785131248 Here's a trade that has Deadpool #1 in it, too bad the rest is Rob Liefeld's work, bleh.

Is he a spiderman ripoff or what?
[img_thumb]http://30.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lgq9txKLrQ1qelk20o1_500.jpg[/img_thumb]
We need avatars for these.
Is he a spiderman ripoff or what?
no i dont think so
Is he a spiderman ripoff or what?
A better question is what your IQ is. How can a wisecracking mercenary who drives moped through offices and cuts shit/shoots shit be compared to spiderman?? OH right his costume is red.
isnt deadpool like the result of failing to re-create wolverine or something
isnt deadpool like the result of failing to re-create wolverine or something
There was one part were someone stabs dead pool through the brain and yet he is still able to talk. I dont think wolverine would be able to do that.
isnt deadpool like the result of failing to re-create wolverine or something
Yep, because of that he's aware of the 4th wall. That's what makes this shit so fun to read haha
isnt deadpool like the result of failing to re-create wolverine or something
Yeah, only his healing factor though, and it caused his cancer to advance in a way that tumors spread across his body, but they didnt kill him. Oh and that didnt make him insane/funny, he was always like that.
Thats just the way i AM BITCH
He once put it. Oh yes, he loves his speech bubbles.
Deadpool is probably the only comic book character I find entertaining. Well, him and Batman, but I didn't go out of my way to read every Batman Comic from his creation to his Sept 2010 issue of his latest ongoing, did I? Yeah, it was a chore finding all of them, but I read most of Deadpool's comics, and loved almost all of them. I didn't enjoy the Deadpool Corps series, but I had only read the first few issues of it, it might have gotten better by now.
http://www.comicvine.com/deadpool/29-7606/ full info on deadpool. he was trapped in a freezer for 800 years [editline]17th February 2011[/editline] this was golden age deadpool
so hey, anyone else read the deadpool meetup with goliath? He gives himself a frontal lobotomy in order to escape a labyrinth. What a badass.
At last, my time has arisen. [img_thumb]http://img.loldepot.com/b0637a3af4c673e9624c7.png[/img_thumb]
These are really funny out of context.
Yeah unlike Wolverine, Deadpool is unable to die, period. Him and the entity of Death had this somewhat romantic relationship that formed when he was at Weapon X and kept in a constant near-death state, this sparked the jealousy of Thanos, who used T-Ray (deadpool's hated rival) to resurrect Deadpool and curse him so he is unable to die.
Now my only question is how frequent those funny scenes really are. They look all well and nice isolated, but I'm not exactly convinced buying the whole comic book is worth it.
About every other panel in every single comic.
Is he a spiderman ripoff or what?
I haven't read the comics yet, but according to the movie script that was floating around he got the design for his outfit when he was looking for ideas in a costume store and wound up putting a on a Spiderman mask inside out. Anyone who actually reads Deadpool want to verify/refute that?
this is literally the only comic book character i find interesting and i've only just discovered this gold mine too lol
isnt deadpool like the result of failing to re-create wolverine or something
No he was a mercenary (a serious one at that) but he got cancer. Eventually in the comics he went through the Weapon X program which gave him that quick healing power (not the adamantium though). Deadpool's healing power is different though, the more severe the wound, the faster it heals. For example he can have his entire arm chopped off but if he reattaches it where it should be then it heals like nothing. HOWEVER, if someone were to inflict minor wounds on him he can die. In one of the comics he was nearly killed because someone kept slashing him and leaving hundreds of small wounds.

best marvel character or bestest marvel character?
I haven't read the comics yet, but according to the movie script that was floating around he got the design for his outfit when he was looking for ideas in a costume store and wound up putting a on a Spiderman mask inside out. Anyone who actually reads Deadpool want to verify/refute that?
That was just a joke the writers put in, because they knew people who only watched the movies would say that Deadpool's costume resembled Spiderman's costume.
No he was a mercenary (a serious one at that) but he got cancer. Eventually in the comics he went through the Weapon X program which gave him that quick healing power (not the adamantium though).
His healing factor was specifically tailored to protect against his cancerous tumours, as in the cells that died due to the cancer were automatically regrown - in Secret Invasion, the Skrulls (aliens that can mimic superhero powers etc.) that tried to mimic Deadpool's specific power ended up blowing up because they didn't have the specific cancer that killed off the cells at the rate that the healing factor regrew them, or something.
isnt deadpool like the result of failing to re-create wolverine or something
Nope, he's one of Rob Liefeld's (look him up) many, many, many ripoff characters. In this case, he was a muscled-up, over-pouched version of DC's Deathstroke (Or if you watched the Teen Titans animated show thingy, Slade Wilson) but when he was kicked from Marvel, a bunch of much, much better better writers turned him into a parody of Rob's work and, well, he got pretty damned popular from then on.
