Now I don't consider myself a brony, because people who do are hardcore sperglords. I gave the show a chance and I can honestly say it's not objectively bad, and I even enjoyed watching some parts. The show has spectacular animation quality and the voice acting I'd some of the best I've ever heard, especially out of a show on a kids show budget. The plots can be rather thin at times but there's a lot more depth than your average show for little girls. And let's face the facts here, it is better entertainment than real life or Jersey shore. My honest opinion is that it's a fundamentally good show (at least compared to the rest of the garbage on TV) who's image has been stained by the very people who love the show the most.

Back in the day there were no quality shows for girls, only shallow crap that focuses on clothes, fashion and whatnot. The only exception I can think of is Powerpuff Girls, but that was almost a unisex kinda show that appealed to everyone.
