He was here and gone.
I don't think this is really fair of Howard Stern. I'll be honest, I'm quite shocked by most of the "brony" fandom but I don't find it necessary to criticize them, they aren't hurting anyone. I find it even more shocking that we live in a society which almost seems to demand that we villainize and humilate those who have different interests than the majority, lest we want to be thrown into the lion den with them.
I don't like bronies either but this guy is kind of an asshole. Like "cons are for nerds", and then laughing at the guy who was depressed but felt better for going to the con.
To say all fans of my little pony are autistic male neckbeards is really quite wrong.
And if they were then what? This kind of attitude of defense is just as demeaning.
I kinda feel sad for most bronies, honestly. After I watched that brony-con documentary, it was just...egh. I could never look at bronies the same way again.
I don't know, sponge bob is a children's thing too and quite a lot of people enjoy it without shame.
And if they were then what? This kind of attitude of defense is just as demeaning.
They aren't, so its really irrelevant. I think using autism as an insult is fucking stupid (and usually makes no sense), but that's the common insult thrown at them. Either autism or asbergers. Both are completely untrue, and that is my point.
I don't know, sponge bob is a children's thing too and quite a lot of people enjoy it without shame.
It's not the people that enjoy or watch it that're bad, it's the godawful fandom.
I don't know, sponge bob is a children's thing too and quite a lot of people enjoy it without shame.
And quite a few people get turned on by it considering the volume of spongebob porn out there,

Comparing a show that's pointed towards all ages with a show that was mainly made for little kids is a little stupid in my opinion.
And if I remember, My Little Pony also had some educational points in it.
Oh man, this thread is still going
I don't have enough popcorn, I already ran out yesterday

They completely tossed that out the window with the second season.

Fair enough, I misunderstood you. I agree that using autism as an insult is stupid as well.

That's the thing. Sure, My Little Pony has an intended market, but it was Lauren Faust's intention to make it actually good. Not just throw in bits and pieces to prevent parents who had the misfortune of watching it go completely brain dead. She was disappointed that "girl's cartoons" were generally synonymous with stupid or infantile. She wanted it to be good enough to appeal to everyone, not just little girls.
So a comparison between it and early Spongebob is a fair one.

And I thought arguments in ITNN were bad.

Treat that documentary like a Michael Moore documentary, as in full of bias and falsified statistics, with cherrypicked footage.
Howards got a point if you see it from his point of view.
Big howard fan here. I'm reading miss america at the moment, it's really good. By the way everyone, his dog Bianca just died :c
Anything pony/brony should just be banned from Facepunch already. Nothing good comes from it, no one can keep their shit straight whenever the subject comes up.
Should be noted that a NASA employee was interviewed by the Associated Press at Bronycon. And this wasn't just an ordinary fan, she was in full fucking cosplay. And was actually attractive.
As well, over 60 active military brownies showed up at the convention. I guess Howard Stern's people just forgot about them.
To say all fans of my little pony are autistic male neckbeards is really quite wrong. To even say that a place like Bronycon is a collection of the above is wrong. That only the super devoted obsessive fans attend cons like that, is wrong.
Such a thing isn't even that outlandish. I fucking love Jurassic Park (3rd less so), so if there was a Jurassiccon where you could meet Sam Neil and Jeff Goldblum and buy sick posters and merch, and it wasn't ridiculously expensive to travel to, I'd fucking go. Same applies to brownies and their love of technicolored donkeys.
That's why it's perfectly accurate to say most of them are.
One NASA employee who has a creepy hobby doesn't mean all the freaks who went there are suddenly normal.

You are dumb. There is literally nothing else to say. You ignored my entire post explaining as to why they are not, just to assert your opinion.
Bronycon contained people from all different nationalities, races, genders, and so forth. If you look up some of the cosplay contests or general photos, you'll see lots of good looking people there, just as there are spergy looking ones.

I listen to him all the time.
Sure he is a dick a lot of the times but he's incredibly smart.
wat
your comment had me googling and it's apparently called true life.
idk man I don't watch the shit
I really like this show, but the fucking fandom man... Holy shit.
oh man i can sense the awkwardness and sperginess from the interviews.
I really like this show, but the fucking fandom man... Holy shit.
yeah, the fandom is a little bit....
at least some members of it are more bearable than others, a few of my friends from school are "bronies", but they don't spew random quotes from the show
and i swear they're only annoying shitbags 70% of the time

oohgodhelpmepleaseicantmakeanygoodfriendsHELPME
You know, this whole my little pony thing will eventually blow over, and there'll be some other equally retarded thing people will obsess over.
That's one of the reasons I don't let this shit get to me. If you just ignore it, and don't seek it out (even to make fun of it whatever) you don't have to put up with videos of autistic manchildren talking about pony dolls.
