Thats sorta cool, but it goes against the whole "Luke became a force hermit" thing that's the most supported, seeing as how Force users are supposed to be celibate.
I feel like Jedi celibacy was like the worst addition from the prequels/EU
Y'all know Original Trilogy Yoda was a solid pimp. Ain't nobody need a cave on Dagobah that big unless he got a flock of hoes visiting on the regular
This movie looks too stuck in the past.
To be fair it is set a long time ago... in a galaxy far, far away.
I love Starwars, but I'd not consider myself a fanboy despite having a lot of things related to it over the years. Yet no other film trailer, ever, has bought a tear to my eye. I just don't get it.
sounds like you want Star Wars that isn't Star Wars
Honestly, I don't agree with him for thinking this looks like trash, but the music in the trailer was pretty bad.
And, having a new theme for the series isn't unheard of in Star Wars. All you need to make something sound Star Wars is John Williams.
That being said, we've only seen the trailers, and I have no doubt there will be some really amazing music in the movie as well as a bunch of new themes for the characters.

I disagree completely, the music was still really good in the trailer.
In fact, it was pretty much the same as the older themes it reproduced, just heavier on the swells and snare hits.

The themes were present, but the style was definitely a lot more cumbersome than classic John Williams. It seemed to me more like Michael Giacchino wrote this trailer, which is another favorite composer of mine, but it definitely didn't resonate classic Star Wars orchestration to me.

It may very well be John Williams, but it doesn't sound right.
[editline]21st October 2015[/editline]
Hmmm, from that article above:
"However, we do know some of the people involved: Frederick Lloyd says he has contributed music to the latter half of the trailer, namely the “Force Theme,” while John Samuel Hanson of Confidential Music worked on the first half of the trailer music. Trailer editors Josh Dunn and Brent Rockswold helped complete the edit of the trailer you see before you. But we’ve heard there are others involved with both the edit and the music."
Sounds about right.
It's not John Williams, it doesn't sound like John Williams, and therefore it doesn't sound 100% authentic. I'm not badmouthing the movie, or the trailer, just the music.
IMDB credits him as the composer for Force Awakens
The trailer. Not the movie. The movie isn't in question.

It just impresses me how people can just edit out all the sound effects, voices and whatnot from a video like this...
I love how fucking scared Boyega's character looks going up against Ren, I am so hype.

Phase cancellation if it's this good. Shits weird, people use it to get acapellas from full music tracks all the time.
personally i find it refreshing to hear classic Williams themes with a modern twist added
it's like listening to a good cover song; doesn't beat the original, but very much enjoyable

They use mid side for that mostly actually
I predict that this will become the new highest grossing movie on an opening weekend, beating out Jurassic World. By how much, I don't know.

But will it beat Metal Gear Solid V's opening box office? $179 million (Beating The Avengers and Jurassic World combined.)
Its not a movie y'know but i still can't get it out of my head.

I know, that is very impressive! Plus that wasn't an entire weekend of sales, that was the first day.
Currently, the top opening box office weekend ever is Jurassic World, with $208,876,720. I think we'll see Star Wars beat that record.

It will have no problem beating Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park was shit.
The mere fact they pushed the "midnight release" 5 hours is saying something.
The movies are sold out around my area until January. It's a miracle I got tickets for opening.
I wouldn't doubt they've already beat the record.
Wait, Jurassic World was that successful? I saw the trailer and thought it looked like shit.
I don't like the new stormtroopers
I like the helmets but their new suits look a little plain compared to the old ones. They're too smooth or something, I can't tell. They're like Apple iStormtroopers.
Edit: Like here, just look at the upper back and shoulder plates. I feel like I'm looking at a cheap cosplay of a real Stormtrooper suit.

It wasn't the first Jurassic Park but it definitely surpassed the other sequels by far.

You can also say that about the prequel trilogy soundtrack.
Each of the trilogies has a distinctive sound to their score.
By the way, why is it premiering the 16th in norway?
I mean, I'm not complaining.

Every box office that is pre-selling Episode 7 in the western hemisphere has sold out for the entire weekend already.
All of them.

Not so hot here. Can still find plenty of seats.

Dec 18th - 20th, every single time slot for every single movie theater? All sold out? That's kinda hard to believe.
[editline]22nd October 2015[/editline]
Fandango shows lots of available tickets for my area, even on the 17th at midnight.
