it was good but really it was an MOR beck album, nothing really noteworthy.
beyonce however used to be an MOR r&b artist but she changed a great deal.

heh the news blogs over here in aus are acting as though iggy azalea was snubbed hardcore with her album not winning the hiphop aoty.
grammys discussion always leads to stupid palces anyways. it's literally an subjective awards ceremony where turning up is more important than winning really. gotta roll around in those social circles.

I think the best part of the Grammy's was Kanye's stunning display of maturity, choosing to stop just short of interrupting Beck

Having North has mellowed him out, the Kanye of 3 years ago would snatch the mic, the Kanye of today stops just short of it, for Kanye, that's a huge improvement

It was clearly a joke, though - as he's leaving the stage he's smiling and laughing, and everyone in the audience took it as a joke (which it was).
He wasn't interviewed until later when he was drunk, and he's already gone back and said that he loves Beck and he didn't mean it as an attack on Beck but more an attack on the Grammys. Still pretty dickish, but we've all said stupid stuff when we're drunk. We're just not celebs so it doesn't get pasted across the entire internet.
Holy shit though, reddit's fucking frothing at the mouth about this. People think Kanye must have never known who beck was, they're personally attacking his wife and daughter as terrible people, calling him racist and throwing tons of vile, unbridled hatred and racism at Kanye for "not being talented."
even though Ye gave his "Stronger" BET award to UGK/OutKast because he thought they had a better video. Which is what he drunkenly called on Beck to do. He referenced Beck a decade ago on Get Em High. He just said stupid shit, which is par for the course with Kanye.
He really should stop drinking at awards shows and refuse interviews after awards shows. I can't even imagine being him and reading the sort of drivel that people post about him online. Borderline death threat bullshit.
kanye best is intelligent when he wants to be.
But he's really messing himself by how he expresses himself in public.

I'm pretty sure though most people think that Beck is really good. Like its trending all over twitter how Kanyes a cunt for telling Beck, a multi instrumentalist, to respect Beyonce, who had like 4 writers for one song or some shit.
Not really fussed I just think it's great how Ye winds everyone up on a regular basis.
I don't think more credit should go to an artist just because they play more instruments or write more songs by themselves. To me that's just another attribute of the artist.
if an artist surprises me that's when they get credit.
