I've been wondering about this for a while now: Does anyone think that the part from 3:36 - 3:50 in Space Oddity sounds incredibly close to a Beatles or more likely a Paul McCartney song? I've listened to the beatles loads and this part totally sounds like something I've heard in another song somewhere else, however I just can't place it. SO whats the opinion on Wolfmother? Listened to all their works several times over and it seems like they can just pick and choose any of the great rock bands and mimic them. Most of their songs completely shift midway, it's like getting two songs in one.

Their first is a good album.

Wolfmother excel at making some incredibly obnoxious songs. An entire album can be the same experience as having to sit through songs like "Respect" "Smells Like Teen Spirit" "Sweet Child O' Mine" they're not bad songs by any margin and they all earned their places in music History. But holy hell do they outstay their welcome fast. It's cool that you like it though, no hate from me. I just think it's a band that has some incredibly repetitive songs.

repetitive is an understatement. they make ac/dc sound like math rock

so im not really into rap. i mean i do like it and appreciate it but its not one of my go-tos holy shit i just discovered run the jewels 2 and this is one of the most interesting albums ive listened to in a long time early in particular is extremely fascinating the way they construct the narrative and frame the message even if you dont care or agree with about the politics they talk about anybody know anything more like this

Help guys, i'm in need of some Sci-Fi music stat. But the thing is, i don't want it to be a bunch of bongos and common instruments making space sound like Africa or some shit. Slow piano tracks aren't really fitting either. I'm more interested in finding some oddball Japanese music, the problem i've hit so far is that no matter where i browse all the selections are either anime related which would be fine, if all the selections didn't come from the same shows. Like where do i go to look for Japanese music without having to swim through a sea of gimmicky shit that has nothing to do with what i'm searching for? Just post some shit you can think of, but i'd generally like something with odd sounds like the Aeon Flux Soundtrack when they play the synth parts.
