Love this
new kanye album is pretty nice, it feels weird because sometimes I feel like he's sounding a little like drake but then I remember that drake's sound was heavily inspired by 808's and heartbreak so its this weird circular thing
Tidal is pure trash wtf are you doin kanye dont promote this piece of shit thing
Hollyyy shit Ultralight Beam is soo good.
Actually the whole TLOP album is fantastic

its utter garbage compared to anything kanye has put out even yeezus
no cohesion, messy as hell, feels like the running time of the whole "bonus-last-minute-added" tracks is longer than the actual album, ends with fade instead of wolves, on which sia and vic mensa were cut, there's ideas and shit happening everywhere, the mastering is bad
feels like ye is just focused on makin memes and shoes, this shit a mixtape.
[editline]14th February 2016[/editline]
individually the songs are fire though
[QUOTE=Eluveitie;49738335]Tidal is pure trash wtf are you doin kanye dont promote this piece of shit thing[/QUOTE]
yeah but within an hour a bunch of dudes leaked it so it's fine.
[editline]14th February 2016[/editline]
I kinda agree, the 17 tracks was too much considering most of the "filler" is tracks that were already released and didn't need to be there, I feel like there's a lot of strong songs on there and some weak ones, better than yeezus for me tbh but I didn't like yeezus that much so eh

nothing he releases is ever going to beat My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy tho, that was the apex of his career

yeah but see that's something up for discussion like, mbdtf works really well as the game-changing, instant classic and near perfect in presentation album it is. It was well organized too, with the good fridays track, the 30 min mini-movie and the george condo paintings.
but you could still argue that yeezus also works really well as an abrasive, edgy, prompt and loud record, just like his earlier projects carry their qualities and push them to their max, while still being very cohesive and clean. my favorite yeezy project is still college dropout to this day, it just flows so nicely and he worked on it, he worked on the progression, both sonically and lyrically, the themes, the sound, the subject matter, just like he did for mbdtf and even yeezus to some extent.
yeezus was said to be rushed by some people when kanye planned screenings on walls, built up hype, presented himself with a new style, new atmosphere.
how serious kanye has always taken this shit is admirable. I feel like TLOP is really just a mixtape, songs are dope as fuck, but do you really feel like you're listening to the same shit after Pt. 2?
it's disappointing like, surely, having made all his previous albums, kanye knows what it takes to make a decent cohesive album. So what happened? he had fun, pure, simple, messy, fun and put together an album very quickly, on which his level of investment is incoherent, songs like wolves and ultra light beams feel like he's giving us his best, and in-between you get a bunch of fun shit on fire production that keeps changing faster than you can listen.
it just feels like he doesn't give a fuck anymore and won't be putting out really interesting material beyond bangers and meme-worthy lines. especially when he making clothes, a fucking video game (???) and supervising his whole donda corporation that has so many different activities. he using his money to explore other stuff that interest him. his fashion line probably fifty times more cohesive and well-thought than this "album"
his fashion line is honestly highly derivative of the designers that he used to wear before he started his own stuff, the colour palettes are cool and all the shoes are sick af but that's about it
I agree with you on the "just having fun" thing, I feel a very Cherry Bomb vibe, Like how it was Tyler being like "this is me now okay" you feel?
true, true. i aint feel tyler but at least his earlier work worked well whereas cherry bomb also looks like a collection of "what's up that's what i've been doin' lately"
[QUOTE=Onirik;49738369]its utter garbage

oh and the whole album Balanescu Quartet - Maria T (2005) was supergreat

its pretty obvious he gives a fuck if you read his tweets about the album, the giant ass stream launch party thing or whatever that was, and the fact that Chance said he had to fight to keep Waves on the album because Kanye didn't want it on there.
if he didnt give a fuck, we wouldn't be getting a kanye album
you guys are too serious
yeezy is serious business
nah like kanye is some sort of mystical hoodoo music guru guy tbh, i genuienly think he's some type of idiot savant.
i listened to that new konway west album, it's v good

What the fuck. Parkway Drive is a genuinely good metalcore band. Absolutely misplaced among the other four bands.
The other four are definately gay and bad though.

i genuinely enjoy all of those bands and ummm... you're being rude
Well sorry, but Parkway Drive isn't a cliché scene band like the rest on that list. Their breakdown doesn't even sound "gay" or bad
breakdowns are the gayest thing ever dude wtf r you talkin about
[QUOTE=Eluveitie;49739719]breakdowns are the gayest thing ever dude wtf r you talkin about[/QUOTE]
exactly why i love them
[editline]hdhd[/editline]
i don't think you understand what i'm all about Sir. RaptorJGW
"gay" isn't used as an insult here, but as an aesthetic
and yo emmure go hard as hell, homie
what y'all have against fun
still not gonna get over how fucking AWFUL the Kanye album cover is tbh
It's been like close to 2 years since I last went to a concert. I need to re-evaluate my life.
[QUOTE=cheetahben;49739837]still not gonna get over how fucking AWFUL the Kanye album cover is tbh[/QUOTE]
it's kind of so chaotic that it kind of works considering how all over the place the record is honestly
i kinda like it
[editline]14th February 2016[/editline]
30 hours has the line "a blowjob is better than no job" i retract my opinion of the whole record
[editline]14th February 2016[/editline]
yeah the second half of the record is wayyy better than the first
[QUOTE=RaptorJGW;49739679]Well sorry, but Parkway Drive isn't a cliché scene band like the rest on that list. Their breakdown doesn't even sound "gay" or bad[/QUOTE]
Lol parkway drive is one of the most cliche derivative metalcore bands but also why are we talking about parkway drive in 2016
