Yeah sure he's self absorbed, but how many other fucking music stars were like that? Like, the 70s and 80s were just full of giant cunts who sang in front of a band, who were cunts themselves a lot of the time. What's new about it? The difference here is that Kanye is one of those self absorbed wankers in teh age of social media where EVERYTHING he says and does is broadcast to anyone who wants to see it. He's been hounded by paparazzi most of his life as well. It seems like everything he says is stupid. Nah, people just cherry pick the stupid shit out.
People only see the idiotic side of Kanye. There's heaps of interviews around that show how (comparatively) level headed and humble he is. He's self aware enough to realise he comes across as a wanker as well. That's the side people don't see because it doesn't create enough controversy for the news to report on.
In regards to his music. Kanye is a producer first and rapper second. Sure he has the occasional retarded verse, but the acclaim comes from his production abilities, his thematic concepts and then his rapping. You don't sell as much music as he has if you're shit. That's just basic fact.

I once had a, I'll say argument since the other guy was just being a fuckwit, but it started out as a debate, about Kanye and I shit you not, the guy said that Kanye could afford to be more like John Lennon, a guy who has a reputation as an asshole. The exact same thing, THE EXACT FUCKING SAME THING that Kanye has.
Genius and being a cunt go hand in hand a lot. Don't forget that.
I think between the fact that I haven't listened to his music in a while and all those stupid tweets he's made in the past few days where he's begging for money despite being one of the most famous people in the world I've outgrown Kanye

also I thought it was pretty neat how they gave Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode all the Grammys this year. weird
when u get up early to buy those Beyoncé tickets n ur on the site waiting for them to go on sale but it still sells out before u can nab ur tickets cos u just get unlucky w the web traffic :-(

he talks big but he can back up most of what he says, there's not much more to say imo

You know, that's a fair point. I'll be honest, I did a bit of reading, and I'm kind of impressed about how he gets his inspiration. The guy spent a year in the south of France, visiting every Le Corbusier villa he could find, to translate that aesthetic to his music. Because he had an original Le Corbusier lamp in the apartment he was in during the time, and obsessed over it. That's creative, at least.
Kanye just snatching headlines for his album drop. It's all trends and #tags when it comes to staying hot as a hip hop artist and he stays current with the constant outlandish antics. People are excited to see and hear what he does next. It's just what Kanye does.
Also he's pretty candidly said stuff to theme of 'everytime people get mad at me, everyone involved makes money'
He knows that he lives in an age of social media and celebrity stories, he's just using that to its fullest imo

I'm more pissed about fucking Alabama Shakes winning best rock performance. They're not even fucking rock! Foo was the only actual rock band nominated. That and Skrillix & Bieber winning over the Chemical Brothers in Dance/Electronic. But that's just me. :v:

looking a H&M mannequin is the new scene haircut (has been since 2011 iirc, fyi 2007-2009 was the year of the scene haircut), a bill they definitely fit
don't get me wrong it's a solid look and a solid band but face the facts, they're generic
i'm personally a big fan of generic whatevercore bands tho

So I was in the bathroom while the dryer was on, and I thought I heard the faint sound of a deathcore song or something playing somewhere, and I thought maybe my phone had started playing music at a very low volume, so I turned the volume off.
But the sound was still there. I thought maybe some neighbor was listening to music way too loud, so I turned off the dryer to figure out if that was it, and then the music stopped.
So I turned it on again, and the music started again. So apparently my dryer sounds like it's playing an infinite deathcore breakdown at an incredibly low volume, drums, guitar and vocals included. I could swear I even heard crash cymbals.
It actually sounded really cool, but I think it's impossible to record it, it's so quiet and subtle.
Throw drugs into your dryer next time, it could have an influence on the sound.

New Weezer song. Their new album is shaping up to be excellent, with this song sounding like a Blue Album B-Side (sounds a lot like Suzanne) and the same could be said for "Do You Wanna Get High?" sounding like Pinkerton. The other two they've shown, "Thank God For Girls" and "King of the World" are innovative in a positive direction for once.
Between this and their last album, most folks are agreeing that Weezer is a good rock band again.
ppl have been saying that since hurley and people will be saying that two weezer albums after this one.
Weezer hasn't made a really good album in forever.
That song doesn't give me much hope that this will change.
