First listen, but I enjoy listening to this EP even more than TPAB. No lie.
I found it easier to listen to than TPAB but I think that's because of the ridiculously deep nature of TPAB and how connected it is. It took me like three listens of TPAB before I really started to understand and appreciate it. Untitled is a collection of (apparently) throwaways with no underlying story or anything. It's really smooth and really nice to listen to. I love them both in different ways. Untitled definitely has my favorite track though, 03 is fucking great. "WHAT THE WHITE MAN SAY?" thank you based lebron for asking for this [editline]4th March 2016[/editline]
Need some good music
What genre you looking for, I gotchu

TPAB was one of the best albums I've ever heard, but I've only listened to it all the way through like, 4-5 times, because it's just so much to take in. But I can see myself coming back to "untitled unmastered." a lot, just because of how enjoyable it is to listen to. It's like the missing link between GKMC and TPAB.
almost every week's discover weekly on spotify gives me one song that's so good i'm gonna listen to it to death and then never look at it again
im so tired of all the kendrick circlejerking
im so tired of all the kendrick circlejerking
buckle up and get used to it, he's at the top of the game and i don't see that changing for awhile. besides, he did just release a completely unpromoted EP, that's gonna make waves for awhile.
he is v good but i don't think he's sparking off this "new era" of hip hop like people say... he's just v solid and there are 100s of solid rappers out there.
i don't care for people that aren't me
he is v good but i don't think he's sparking off this "new era" of hip hop like people say... he's just v solid and there are 100s of solid rappers out there.
I think if he puts out another great album like GKMC and TPAB he immediately hits legend status. I don't know if he has that one song that everyone can identify him with though like Nas with N.Y. State of Mind, Jay Z with Hard Knock Life and Heart of the City, or Pac with Changes. Really I could list like five or six with Pac. Could list a couple with Ye too. [editline]4th March 2016[/editline] Miike Snow's iii just dropped so today is like fuckin christmas to me at this point
Pimp pimp! Hooray! Anyways, Money Trees is definitely on the level of Juicy, Dead Presidents, Shook Ones Pt 2, etc. I think we'll be seeing GKMC on the same status as things like the Blueprint in years to come.

That verse was killer.
im so tired of all the kendrick circlejerking
TPAB was very overrated and could have been cut to about half its length [editline]4th March 2016[/editline] conscious rap in general sucks
wait... that lamar guy? i thought it was a joke artist at first, that mocking voice just makes me want to punch his face in, can't stand that shit
wait... that lamar guy? i thought it was a joke artist at first, that mocking voice just makes me want to punch his face in, can't stand that shit
Haha what, how the fuck did you get that idea? :v:
I've been listening to more hip-hop (used to be exclusively rock and metal), probably just a by-product of moving to Cali. I like Nujabes, Death Grips, and Lamar. Any recommendations similar to any of those artists? Maybe some hip-hop essentials?

You'll dig them if you're already into Death Grips. I did atleast
Haha what, how the fuck did you get that idea? :v:
on how annoying his voice is, same as with death grips, especially since i heard it on soundclown first and i just started hysterically laughing when i heard the real track after

Will definitely check these out.
on how annoying his voice is, same as with death grips, especially since i heard it on soundclown first and i just started hysterically laughing when i heard the real track after
"I don't like it therefore it must be a joke" is not a very constructive way to look at music. I also don't know how Kendrick's voice is annoying but I guess that's very subjective. I personally really love Kendrick's lyrics and flow. "Alright" and "Money Trees" are probably my favorite songs of his. Check them out if you want to give him a second chance.
"Money Trees"
ahahahahaha oh holy shit yeah this is not my kind of music at all, jesus christ this is so bad it hurts kek this is the only rap i can listen to
Please don't call it bad, you sound like a massive backpacker/90's stan right now.
if someone says stomething stupid round these parts, assume they're being sarcastic, Unless its franke bcause he never sarcasm's he's some literal incarnation of irony or something idk it changes each week
Please don't call it bad, you sound like a massive backpacker/90's stan right now.
well it's bad in my eyes (ears) and i don't even know what you're referring to there
Its not bad, you just don't like it. Critical acclaim doesn't lie. I really hope this doesn't turn into SH Kanye thread v2

Ab-soul is there too although he's the worst of the four at this point in my opinion Regardless of how annoying he can be, Kanye makes good music. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is a masterpiece. If you're looking for that conscious feel you've got Lupe Fiasco. His first two albums are absolutely wonderful and his most recent has sparked a great comeback.
Its not bad, you just don't like it. Critical acclaim doesn't lie. I really hope this doesn't turn into SH Kanye thread v2
hey i agree lamar's great and all but critical acclaim sure as hell isn't what decides if something is good or not
How can we talk about rap without discussing the modern masterpiece of rap metal?
Common - Be is pretty much the Kanye album for people who dont like Kanye It's also an amazing album btw Also for the love of god give Digable Planets a listen, Blowout Comb changed my view on hip hop forever.
Finally got around to listening to Joanna Newsom's new album, it was fantastic.
i didnt like it as much as othe rpeople did because i can't relate to half the stuff he talks about. like all those songs with fucking awful beats but really good lyrics n stuff are just meh to me.
Yeah this is probably where it comes from, I listen to hip-hop for the production/beats rather than the lyrics. Not to mention I didn't relate to TPAB because it's almost like...it was made for a specific group of people that I'm not a part of :o what a concept [editline]4th March 2016[/editline] also everyone should listen to Lil Ugly Mane, he's kind of the best thing ever
