It really caught me off guard, though Thank God for Girls is pretty bad.
I've been digging Whirr and Amusement Parks On Fire recently, but haven't been able to find any other decent shoegaze/wall of sound type bands. Recs?

Well, Nothing - Guilty Of Everything is a pretty obvious choice although you may have heard it considering how close they are to Whirr.
Although they are way less moody Candy Claws - Ceres & Calypso In The Deep Time is a pretty enjoyable listen.
Also check out some japo Shoegaze, Luminous Orange and Tokyo Shoegazer are both pretty good.
