[QUOTE=Eluveitie;47429236]No one liked Boris's collab with Michio Kurihara? I'd rate that as one of their best. [editline]31st March 2015[/editline] I can't get into Merzbow though.[/QUOTE] when'd anyone say that? rainbow is alright, but i'm not too into cloud chamber, it has some fine moments but overall super forgettable
Rainbow is just alright to me. Nothing more, nothing less. It did get me into listening to Michio Kurihara's solo stuff though, so I'm happy with that.
if anyone here likes fun, grindy rpgs here is a key for Torchlight 2: AB53Y-YNH26-4QYXV i couldn't think of anyone to give it to lol
already got it m8 but I'd love to play with someone

Just read about this Tidal shit, I reckon it'll flop hard. Imagine spending £20 a month for "lossless" streaming.
Huh?
It's an "artist owned" streaming service launched by Jay Z and other pretty well established artists promising a "bigger cut" to the artists. The launch video literally had Jay Z announcing that it would "change the course of music forever" or some shit. [editline]31st March 2015[/editline] Also the UI is embarrasingly similar to Spotify's.
Ah, thanks for elaborating. I found it. Seems especially pointless to someone like me who doesn't like streaming music. Doubt it'll go anywhere because most audiophiles I think like owning their shit instead of streaming.
Streaming lossless is a dumb idea with the rubbish service ISPs provide right now. $20 bucks a month is too much. Jay-Z isn't a musician anymore. He doesn't make these things with the goal of "benefiting the artist". It's a pretty obvious cash grab ffs.
Also 100% unrelated, but also related to people being dumbasses, it is funny to look at nerds whining in the 10s tag of last.fm because according to them it should be for 2010s or 1910s only depending on which side I'm referring to. Anyways though, it made me wonder are there any really good recordings from the 1910s out there that I should check out?
So I tried listening to This Will Destroy You in my car the other day and it sounded like mad shit. Listening to them now at home on my headphones and ughughughughughughugh Christ. I don't know why but it's been a really long time since I sat down and just listened to music at my computer. It's refreshing.

Hey guys hopefully the right place to ask; do you know any good sites to buy cds? My local store charges 25-30 dollars per cd and while i wanna have physical cds and pay for music, this seems a bit fucked to me. Anywhere that ships to Australia and isnt crazy expensive works for me
[QUOTE=Swamplord;47438632]Never underestimate people who are willingly to pay because it turn into a fad.[/QUOTE] there definitely will be people who will use this just because its Jayz i mean that guys the poster boy for an entire social movement. It's just he's ripping the users off instead of the artists. if you're going to run a super successful music streaming site, it needs to be at a detriment to the provider when you start off. that way you get the attention of the users and the artists who will allow you to use their music. There's a reason why bandcamp is so fucking good. [editline]2nd April 2015[/editline] [QUOTE='Rain [Amber];47442176']Hey guys hopefully the right place to ask; do you know any good sites to buy cds? On the plus side, if you live in a larger city (ie. state capitals), there's almost definitely a small store that sells cheap or rare discs.
JB-HI FI isn't even that bad i mean i got brand new cd's for 10 bucks and new releases go for around $17 - $21 rather than buy a CD online for $10 and it comes with an extra 20 just to get it shipped...
Rural WA so no hope of that :( was hoping maybe someone knew an american site or someth that shipped worldwide but ah well. Thanks anyway!
by brand new i mean the band Brand New i got devil and god for $10
I forgot how good jb hifi is price wise at times tbh. Don't have one in town but itll be cheap as to get cds shipped from perth
JB isn't too bad but the vinyl prices are fucking ridiculous
Go to local markets and thrift stores. If you know what's good you can get some sick stuff. My best finds have been bjork's debut for $2, a talking heads cd for $3, dig lazarus dig by nick cave for $2, and a few others like that Other than that, JB do reasonable prices on cds but terrible on vinyl (unfortunately most people do bad prices on vinyl) but if you can raid second hand cd stores then do so. If you're in sydney egg records has some great stuff on the cheap
Won an auction of the gatefold 10th anniversary edition of Brand New's "Your Favorite Weapon" for $30 today. I can't tell the fucking difference between the regular version sold at Barnes & Noble for $15 and whatever version I got that sells elsewhere for $50-60, but I think I got a good deal. [editline]2nd April 2015[/editline] Oh, they're out of stock everywhere since it was released back in '11. Pretty neat how records appreciate in value like that so quickly.
Smallpools dropped their first studio album couple of weeks ago and it's pretty damn catchy, although the best songs on it were also on their self-titled ep that was released in 2013. [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoLPbF1bUDY[/media]
