just watched this for the first time. Kind of old so some of you might have seen it
Just found a record store that kinda flouts the rules for record store day and managed to put in a phone order for 4 venetian snares albums and a copy of commissions 2
Crimewave420 finally dropped a song where he raps

voice is a little high but besides from that it's pretty decent
anyone help me out here? trying to find this postrock band i used to listen to, but i can't remember much about them
they may have been one of the postrock bands with vocals, though i doubt it
they had a music video and it was set on a beach, with the ocean in the background
either the name of the song or the name of the album had something to do with the "father/son" motif
and that's all i have

nevermind, found it

turns out it does have vocals

Probably one of the coolest websites I've ever discovered. I really, really love finding out what music my favorite musicians listen to personally, so I could spend hours just looking through this.
ADTR was influenced by KsE
raw
Bjork listens to Current 93 though
that's wild

Figures
I've been into hiphop my entire life and I want to branch out and try new genres out. What are some good places to start?
Listen to a very slightly different version of hip hop

Link your last.fm or say who you like and I can throw out some suggestions

If you like Hip-Hop, try some electronic based music next maybe? Try Listening to Lorn - Maze to Nowhere Part II, one of my favorite electronic releases.

DOOM, Earl, Migos, Mick Jenkins, Kanye, Drake, Death Grips, and The Roots. The only non-hiphop shit I listen to is forest swords and xxyyxx.

You're my man for listening to Migos, I'd definitely try some Hudson Mohawke, has worked a lot with Kanye (the horns on blood on the leaves for example), his first album is batshit insane but really great

I'd definitely suggest listening to some footwork stuff, DJ Rashad leans pretty close to the hip hop side, and both have their roots in sampling

Drake's production tends to remind me a lot of Shlohmo at times, and his album Bad Vibes is completely killer

His more recent one, Dark Red is good, but very very different and may not be to your taste
If you don't listen to Flying Lotus, absolutely give him a go, he spans so much stuff, from glitch hop to ambient to future jazz

Also you may like Dean Blunt, because everyone likes Dean Blunt

And here's a bit of a curveball but it's great

Honestly just listening to hip hop isn't that bad a thing, it's getting pretty diverse, like there's almost no intersection between Gucci Mane and Subtle

The World Is A Beautiful Place are coming back to my town in June, how are they live? I currently intend on going, but I can't recall if the venue is 18 and over or 21 and over. If the latter I'll have to track down someone to get a fake ID from...
I'm getting a fake ID to see Melvins in July probably
Normally I wouldn't, but they're only a few miles from my house, concerts are almost NEVER in my town, and they're one of my favorite bands ever - why the hell not
For the longest time I've had ACDC in the metal folder instead of the hard rock folder, but that changed today.
You absolute madman
yesterday i was on the bus next to some business-dad-looking guy with grey hair and a windows phone, and he was listening to norwegian black metal. he really didn't look like the type to enjoy that stuff, was really surprising
Guys, the venue is 18 and over, not 21, so I don't need to get a fake ID! :)

its a small world apparently
but i do not know what forum that was
Akayz's posts about Asians are the highlights of my life.
Guys I'm enjoying reading books again I'm so happy I'm going to cry
what books you reading bro?
im reading arnold schwarzenegger's autobio atm and the guy is such a beast
Right now, Short Cuts. The film adaptation was apparently a huge influence on Magnolia, which is one of my favorite movies.
I really want to read Slaughterhouse-Five at some point, though. I'm trying to read classics in addition to just normal books
You should read Going After Cacciato by Tim O'Brien. Just finished reading it about a week ago and it was really great.
