nah more like the beach boys and pixies [editline]9th August 2015[/editline] and the ramones to an extent
there's really not "modern surf" bands that have the same style/sound as those groups plenty that take huge influence from surf and blend it with punk or shoegaze or indie stuff, but you're not gonna find any modern groups making stuff that sounds just like Wouldn't It Be Nice
nah more like the beach boys and pixies [editline]9th August 2015[/editline] and the ramones to an extent
i thought "well ok i guess these guys surf", didn't even know it was a genre
oh well, i also like the indie rock so i guess bands more similar to pixies than the beach boys.
if you don't mind shoegaze, Beach Fossils and DIIV have some surf elements tied in with shoegaze and indie rock and other genres. big fan of both of them. Wavves is surf-punk, so if you like punk you can see how well the genres mix together otherwise I don't know much else that is surf-influenced, but a definite recommendation to beach fossils and DIIV
how the fuck are Pixies surf rock
how the fuck are Pixies surf rock
they aren't but they are a style i'm interested in. bossanova has some surf rocky tracks though [editline]9th August 2015[/editline] plus santiago's melodic guitar shit is surf rocky all round
Dre's new album bumps.
badly produced 90s rap is my guilty pleasure
I have no idea what you're talking about, can you give an example?
butthole surfers has both butthole and surfers in the name but I don't think they're either
the beach boys sang about surfing and the album has surf in the title
I always think of Surf Nazis Must Die
some Brian Wilson inspired harmonies doesn't make you surf rock. every rock song to come out after pet sounds would be surf rock if that's all it took.
surf rock influences doesn't make you surf rock. to be surf rock you have to be surf rock.
butthole surfers is noise rock dude
I could surf to burzum [editline]9th August 2015[/editline] actually no I couldn't because
and neither can you
What the fuck is going on.
