i'm moving next month and hopefully my apartment will have enough room for my electronic drumset
When I moved I was moving into a crappy trailer, now I'm living in a proper house, if I had the hindsight I would have kept my drums. I really miss them :saddowns:

SAWII is probably Aphex Twin's best album tbh, I've listened to it twice today, it's really great
Sometimes I feel like Im just wasting my time trying to get better at music and that I'll never be as good as ___ I just cant shake it that Im destined for failure.
don't worry were all failures here
if you never do anything, you'll never fail
Sometimes I feel like Im just wasting my time trying to get better at music and that I'll never be as good as ___ I just cant shake it that Im destined for failure.
I've been playing guitar for 18 years and I still don't think I'm any good. But who cares, just keep trying.
I don't know how long I've been playing. 14 years? maybe 16?
This song was written by the bands lead to his friend(shown in the video) who was experiencing a long period of depression, they told him to sit and lipsync the song and try as hard as he can not to move or smile while they throw crap at him i'll translate the lyrics because its in hebrew Brother don't worry Everythings gonna be alright The heart will wake And the wind will whistle a new tune We've been slapped before and kept it inside then we took a deep breath and kept on forward for the next slap That's how it is what can we do? fall and rise There's no other way Everyone can go fuck themselves There's everything and there's nothing A straight day, a crooked day There's no other way There's no other way Brother shake your head get out of the house! Sit alone in front of the sea and feel the magic flowing through your veins That's how it is...

Probably a really unpopular opinion, but AC/DC is so overated and them taking out #1 in the NZ rock 1000 is just about the most disappointing thing ever when there's so many new exciting bands like Lydia and Collective Soul these days. I'm fine with Tool taking out the top spot because they're fairly obscure in the rest of the world (NZ is the most Tool loving country in the world apparently), and Pearl Jam is always deserving due to just plain high quality, like Foo Fighters. But having a over saturated, overrated band like AC/DC take it out just sets a bad precedent and reminds me of the Nickleback problem. AC/DC isn't a bad band, but I'm starting to hate them due to simple overexposure. /rant
it's useless to compare your average to somebody's best [editline]awd[/editline] But is Pop music like Ke$ha and Miley Cyrus so popular that you can call it as good as a very obscure but objectively 'better' (due to complexity and talent) music? it's a fact that popular music is good music it doesn't matter how good a song is in theory, as long as it is popular then it's good music. what is the "nickleback problem"
DID YOU JUST SAY THAT TOOL ARE OBSCURE? GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE.
But is Pop music like Ke$ha and Miley Cyrus so popular that you can call it as good as a very obscure but objectively 'better' (due to complexity and talent) music?
Formulaic maybe. Catchy yes. Technically good. Your fucking opinion does not define what is considered good. It's completely and totally subjective. [editline]22nd August 2015[/editline]
Anything can be described as obscure so long as you compare it correctly.
Which invalidates your entire argument again you fucking muppet
Yeesh, I didn't mean to shake up the thread this much, but I'm really getting pounced on here. sorry if I used a word incorrectly, guys. My bad. I would actually bet there's a fair chuck of the population that hasn't heard of Tool. When I say the 'nickleback' problem, I mean a band gets overexposed to the point their music is seen a s worse than it actually is just because people get sick of hearing it so much.

They just play the same song over and over again.
