so i've read the whole thread, and from what I can tell you only really consider greenday, blink, etc, etc, to be pop punk? I laugh when I see them in the punk section at music stores honestly. I don't know much about punk though, but I'm pretty sure a lot of these would be considered pop-punk or maybe not even punk at all i don't know: pulley pennywise bouncing souls hot water music the (international) noise conspiracy millencolin refused death by stereo and also, would rockabilly/psychobilly be a subgenre of punk? i.e. necromantix or tiger army.
Here's my collection, all the bands I consider essential listening for someone who really enjoys Punk as it should be. I did my best to clean up the sloppiness of the exported file so bear with me. A lot of these bands can be found on Youtube so don't be hesitant to look some up. I'll upload any others by request.
+ Agression + Black Flag + Circle Jerks + The Germs + Ill Repute + Dr. Know + Die Kreuzen
Bouncing Souls are punk.

Fair enough i could do that all i need to do now is buy paint and start my new jacket which will be all my other music and first on the list for that is Amon Amarth.
guys I covered the Casualties bass for Ugly Bastards. I fucked up twice or something but otherwise I think it's alright
Sounds good. Now do a rancid song :downs:
Or Operation ivy :downs:
their basslines aren't nearly as complex in general
Best Crust Punk Album and best Operation Ivy album Go.
hahahahahahahahaha best op ivy album. [editline]9th June 2011[/editline] you sir are a funny man.
he doesn't know they only have one anyway best crust punk is Electro Hippies - The Only Good Punk...Is A Dead One [editline]9th June 2011[/editline] either than or amebix - arise [editline]9th June 2011[/editline] wow new amebix. it's borderline epic metal
Uhhhhhhhhhhhh..... Op Ivy has more than one album....? Seedy and Energy Am i missing something??
seedy isn't a real album it's just a collection of old stuff
I mean I think it still counts as an album...
Anything on Minutemen in here yet? As for op ivy try Common Rider. Also try some really really old Big D and the Kids Table stuff. Dead Boys, Youth Brigade, and I'm sure Misfits is somewhere in here. Dead Milkmen are cool too. If you liked the video try X and Violent Femmes too. Kind of on topic, I went to a concert where H.R. from Bad Brains was headlining and it was like 10 people in a tiny venue and no security. It was cool to get so close to someone like that. He was incredibly high and he had gray brown dreads all the way to his knees.
dead boys and youth brigade are awesome,, X is too etc etc etc etc etc HR is a dried up old man. he stopped being interesting in 82 when he went "full rasta" or whatever and started picking fights with gay people and all that [editline]9th June 2011[/editline]
I mean I think it still counts as an album...
It wouldn't be considered a studio album in the same way a "rarities" album wouldn't be. It's unreleased material put out after they broke up. I mean sure if it's the only thing they ever put out, but I wouldn't really call it a canonical album. You could call a best of album a full album in that case essentially. I suppose what makes it different in this case is that none of the song on there are on energy but the point stands
