I want to point out that this guy is pretty obviously a troll
Also I just heard Henry Rollins' spoken word bit about Circle one frontman John Macias' death. God damn that guy went out like a badman
I knew that as soon as I saw him use the word plebeian.

I didn't check the entire first page but, I don't see any reference to THE MISFITS. :D
And to prevent any of that Green Day talk, GREEN DAY IS ALTERNATIVE NOT PUNK. Punkers don't play acoustic love songs...
well yeah

I'd call there old stuff punk, not now or for awhile; but they started out that way:

also, on the local board were talking about best punk albums from the 80's, so I made a list of my top ten:
1. All - Descendents
2. BoogadaBoogadaBoogada! - Screeching Weasel
3. Stukas over Disneyland - Dickies
4. Fresh fruit for rotting vegetables- Dead Kennedys
5. Love War- Death Piggy
6. No Control - Bad Religion
7. When in Rome, Do as the Vandals - The Vandals
8. Destroyed - Sloppy Seconds
9. Energy - Operation Ivy
10. Enjoy! - Descendents
also, In a Blink of an Eye by Vision might be #11 if I were to go so far.
Anyway what do you guys think were the best punk releases from the 80's era?

had to pick a couple of albums on some bands, too hard to pick only one
1 - Descendents - Milo goes to College/I don't wanna grow Up
2 - Bad Religion - Suffer/No control (not really hardcore but came out in the 80's anyways)
3 - Operation Ivy - Energy/Plea for peace
4 - Adolescents - Self titled
5 - Minor Thread - First demo tape
6 - Black Flag - Damaged/My war/Nervous breakdown
7 - Dead Kennedys - Fresh fruit for rotting vegetables (Although Pull my strings is my fav song by them)
8 - Reagan Youth - A collection of pop classics
9 - NOFX - S&M Airlines
10 - Bad Brains - Self titled
how do you tie all of those albums together
and demo tape over two 7s on a 12 for minr threat what?
pop classics wasn't released until 1993 or something

They were good album wise up through miami. They still have it live though, 100%. I saw them 4 times in the last year.

Like their first CD, or Tom's Demo?

Yeah, they stopped being so amazing at As the Eternal Cowboy and Searching for a Former Clarity was their last good cd.
the actual first album
the actual first album
Reinventing Axl Rose was their only good CD, not counting the 7 EPs though. My rule of thumb, if it's on a full length CD it was better if you can find it on a demo/EP. The only exception I make is Pints of Guinness Make you Strong.
Hey hey hey now folks
I liked Searching For a Former Clarity
and As the Eternal Cowboy
and New Wave was ok-ish
but White Crosses still blows

Searching for a Former Clarity is alright, a good bit of the songs on it were good. I refuse to admit that New Wave and White Crosses come from the same Tom Gabel.
