[QUOTE=Vedicardi;34538667]because i said so and also you're wrong?
The music you're posting isn't even post hardcore, it doesn't contain elements of that actual sub genre genre. With time this will be corrected (as Metallica was once referred to as Power Metal, etc). Fugazi is post hardcore, your pop rock bullshit isn't.
[editline]4th February 2012[/editline]
i can see you're upset, but get out of my thread because i don't care lol
[editline]4th February 2012[/editline]
also the music sucks.[/QUOTE]
Thursday isnt pop punk, I apologize if you don't like the music but I don't see the harm in allowing people to post it especially if you "don't care"
I said pop rock not pop punk jeez
and when I say I don't care I mean I don't care if you think it's hardcore, because it's not

I understand if you feel that way, thats your opinion but I don't think you should restrict what can and can't be posted based on it.

Uhm, no, that is not metal, my friend. They refer to it as "Melodic Hardcore"
[QUOTE=johnlmonkey;34548503]Uhm, no, that is not metal, my friend. They refer to it as "Melodic Hardcore"[/QUOTE]
This sounds like most other 'hardcore' bands people like, which would be 'sissy metal' like Silverhammer said. It's the metal sound with a guy who screams a few times throughout the song for effect while another guy with a sweet voice sings. Call it what you will, it sounds like every other 'post hardcore' or 'metal' band all those kids at my highschool liked. It reminds me of shit like Escape the Fate.

Hahaha
I call it bullshit :v:
really though. "Melodic Hardcore"? I've heard that before but the band using the term was these guys:

Hmm, not bad, his voice reminds me of the vocalist from Touche Amore.

lol this might be the worst song I've ever heard great job!
[editline]5th February 2012[/editline]
the short of it is you should stop bitching and make your own thread before i start reporting your posts for blatantly disregarding the OP! hehehe ownzone
people in this thread not having heard of Shai Hulud are making me sad, they got a pretty impressive discography. Check that shit out.
I really don't get the point of you making a megathread for a genre if you only allow certain parts of it to be posted. It defeats the purpose of the thread existing at all.
you're wrong bro I allow all punk and hardcore punk subgenres to be posted. pop rock with breakdowns is not a subgenre of either! Sorry!

[editline]6th February 2012[/editline]

Dead Kennedys own, that's all.
[editline]9th February 2012[/editline]
Woah, Didn't notice that this thread hasn't been posted in for 2 days.
Let's change that now.

best DK song ever, and it will ALWAYS be relevant
damn right.
[editline]8th February 2012[/editline]
there's a reason no actual popular band will dare cover that song lol
They really had balls to do that.
I think my favorite DK album is either Frankenchrist or Plastic Surgery Disasters

Good choices.
i don't really like frankenchrist but plastic surgery + in god we trust = masterpiece
yeah frakenchrist was really different to the other albums.
also fresh fruits for rotting vegetables is still one of the best punk albums.

He looked like someone i'd at least give a high-five...until I saw the shirt
it really is a trap.
a hi five trap.
He looks like a descendants fan
that's not nice
[editline]13th February 2012[/editline]
he'd be wearing a blink 182 shirt then
He might as well be :v:
Sweden has some really good punk, so i'm just gonna post some popular songs. Though if you don't understand swedish p. much the entire meaning is lost sadly.

now to actually reading the thread and picking up some good music
[editline]14th February 2012[/editline]
sorry if this has been posted by the way, i did do a quick search before
nah it hasn't
Im legitimately asking if this is relevant. I'm not a genre whore and don't listen to really punky stuff a whole lot (just a little pop punk and post-hardcore), and I came across this.
[media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTR4iLjKM7w[/media]
I know its a bit vocally harsher than most of the stuff I've seen in this thread, but where does hardcore end, and post-hardcore begin?
1990 if you are talking about real post hardcore and real hardcore (punk).
as opposed to NYHC BS hardcore from 1984 and pop "hardcore" in like 2002
