I haven't been on in awhile, but did anyone else go to riot fest? It was a great line-up, although I only went saturday.
Nobunny, the Adicts, GWAR, Teenage Bottle Rocket, Slapstick, and the Descendents played. Plus Gas Light anthem, Dropkick Murphys, Rise Against and some other bands, I didn't see/dont remember off the top of my head.
riotfest had a lot of pop punk bands but some other cool stuff this year. rise against blows

Yeah they played after the Descendents, I left before they (rise) went on, along with the majority of people. People were cheering for a Descendents encore, and when staff asked people to go watch Rise instead everyone started booing, a chant of "fuck rise against" and most of the crowd leaving.
so, i went to the adicts show and broke my nose.
BUT i met a cool local punk band down here in st pete, older guys

wait are you from stl
i went and saw off last night. it wasn't that great. they played for 35 minutes (or 25, rather, but keith talked a lot). You'd think they could write just one song longer than one minute.
I'm actually seeing off Thursday :v:
Let me know if they play an encore

also Propagandhi owns, got to meet them once outside some vegan restaurant. living in the same city as one of your favourite bands is rad.
they're alright. I don't agree with their politics at all and they can be way too uptight at times but whatever

very good musicians, I'll say that for sure. one of the tightest punk bands of the 90s I'd say
bumping with some new stuff
Bad Religion just posted the title track from their newest album, True North
Edit:
ah fuck embedding it won't work
http://youtu.be/OKflTc_RT6U
there's the link
their last album wasn't that bad
The new album sounds really promising
They've claimed they got inspired by the old school sound of the latest pennywise album, so True North is supposedly a sequel to No Control, with lots of short fast songs
i dont like pennywise

best boston straightedge
come at me
also can someone explain to me why the fuck people are so obsessed with female-fronted hardcore lately
im not kidding a bunch of local hc/grind bands around here are actually looking for female vocalists to add to their lineups and they post stuff on facebook like "looking for a female vocalist, no skill needed, just be able to scream" and holy shit can you do a worse job at disguising your efforts to hop on a trend
idk who cares about female vocalists, it's all about female guitar players and drummers!
^backed hard
this album never ceases to amaze me. I always think I'll grow tired of it but I never do. Ever. It's perfect

pretty damn good for a first album
i have to say i like Suffer and No Control more though, they're lethal
first full album, there's an iffy EP before it
way better than anything they put out after it
Post-hardcore (not the "scenecore" type) with some indie rock parts. Sounds a bit like Gallows:
