I think the only political group Eric Andre would ever identify with is anarchy
I like Eric Andre but I didn't really find much humor in the way he crashed Alex Jones' speech. It just felt like the things he said were pretty random.
The parts with the 9/11 conspiracies that got cut were the most logical of it

My favorites of his are when he makes a scene in public with multiple staged actors like the healthy food attacking him when he's a pizza or the cop helping him beat down a cop car, or the one where a cop apprehended then made out with him. Those are my favorites, less funny seeing him just say things

He's incredibly uncomfortable doing public stuff and doing jokes like that in a place full of people who despise your existence if you don't agree with their exact viewpoint, you can't really knock him all that much.
I think he saw Alex and didn't have anything prepared and tried to wing it so he wouldn't pass up the opportunity

The fact that he kept it together that well in the middle of Alex Jones's mob is pretty amazing though, that seems like a straight-up terrifying situation to be making jokes in.

Yeah, the editing makes that bit work - I watched the original leak and it's not really funny, but the added bullshit like the cartoonishly fake punching sound effects and the weird cuts made it humorous.

To be fair I imagine most of Eric's public skits are just super cringy and not as funny without editing

I personally think what he's saying in that bit is funny because it completely undermines Alex Jones's aggression. He's trying to force Eric Andre into a corner by accusing him of being a liberal shill, and he's getting absolutely nothing to work with.
I also think refusing to address what he's saying kind of implies it's beneath him, and it's really funny to see someone go on Jones's own stage and disrespect him like that.

The fake art gallery was filled by payed seat fillers. They believed it was a genuine art gallery that they were filling up space so the reaction to Eric Andre was genuine.
