Makes me wish I had a sister roughly the same age as me. I'd take care of her, have someone to chat to, a little incest on the side now and again, just being there for her.
You can't get a GF so you want a sister? Dude...
Any good parent will ground someone just for taunting someone else being grounded... In the butt.

Meeting people on the net isn't that dangerous if you're not an idiot, angsty teen about it. Seriously, I met a friend I knew for three years from Steam by having him fly down from Canada and visit for a bit; both my parents knew about it, they talked with his parents and worked out all the specifics. The absolute fucking worst thing you can do is meet with someone you don't know and not tell anyone about where you're going. :v:
You can tell he's serious cause he isn't laughing.
lol shes hella fat
This could've been handled far better. This is TV reality-show gold right here. "I just wanted to meet a guy from Myspace, but she just doesn't understand how I feel!"
An 18 year old isn't allowed to be outside after 10 pm? What. [editline]24th April 2011[/editline] That mother is a nutcase.
Hardly, if you live under your parents roof and not paying any rent or shit then you have to follow their rules. But hey, maybe it's just me respecting my parents. What do I know?
Just because they hold the economical power doesn't mean they are right, that's pretty much why we have freedom of speech agaisnt the government. And, I feel sorry for the girl. She did a wrong choice but she shouldn't be punished like this. I did laugh my ass off at the brother, though. I really liked how she drew the line of intelligence and maturity at 17, though. :v:

Freedom of speech = being able to debate and not have to follow rules blindly
its really all her moms fault for being shit. really, teaching her that dating people on myspace is a bad idea ISNT HARD. then punishing her for your own mistake mom? gtfo
if it isn't common sense to you that meeting strangers you talked to on the internet will lead to getting raped in the butt 9 times out of 10 you deserve getting raped in the butt
Freedom of speech = being able to debate and not have to follow rules blindly
That's not even close to what Freedom of Speech is
Freedom of speech is being able to voice your opinions without punishment for doing so. Meaning that we are allowed to have different ideas and voice them and not have to blindly follow them.
you can't just say "fuck you, police, I can shout 'fire' in a crowded movie theater if I want to, have you ever heard of THE FIRST AMENDMENT?!"
No, but you can bring your point of view and pit them agaisnt your parents', i.e. not following their rules blindly.
why do you keep saying that you absolutely do need to "follow their rules blindly," they have authority over you legally and paternally/maternally, you'd be dumb/a bitch not to totally blindly follow their rules
its really all her moms fault for being shit. really, teaching her that dating people on myspace is a bad idea ISNT HARD. then punishing her for your own mistake mom? gtfo
Oh yeah, because it's not like the teen has any freewill at all, right? It was still the teenager's mistake, don't push it off on her mother. As she clearly states, she is 18 and should be smarter than to lie to her mother about something like that. However, teens make their own decisions. There's only so much a parent can do, and then it's not up to them anymore.
That brother is an asshole.
He's an asshole in the butt.
why do you keep saying that you absolutely do need to "follow their rules blindly," they have authority over you legally and paternally/maternally, you'd be dumb/a bitch not to totally blindly follow their rules
Because that's pretty much what is being discussed. And a law does not necessarily have to be moral. A law must generalize, there are 16 year-old people that easily have the maturity of a 18-year-old, as there are 20-year-olds that have the same mentality, yet the law gives these people different powers, because they can't evaluate every single case. And paternal authority is only valid because adults are generally smarter than kids, this is why you can make choice for them, however this implies that they are right, which can be challanged, and if proven wrong, their opinion is invalid.
I get the feeling you're one of those "i'm so much smarter than my parents/the government I should just be able to do anything I want" idiots
And how is that relevant to the validity of my argument? My main point is that debate between parties settle the course of action, not the parties themselves. Doing that would be going it. If you want t ocontinue this, PM me, let us not further derail this thread.
Are you seriously rambling on about free speech? Holy fuck, you live in your parents house. You live by their rules. How hard is that to follow?
I remember seeing this a couple of years ago now. Did the mum join in at the end and say "In the butt"? That is so hilarious.
I love how the mom is cool and collective when she confronts him taunting her over being grounded, without so much as a slap on the wrist.
