i have a high powered handheld laser too.
the bright light on the end of my remote.
Do they ship these things outside the US? If so, whats the shipping fee to Sweden? I would like to get my hands on one of those fuckers.

The most sellers ship worldwide, You'll need to go to different places/people to purchase different parts, if you want to get past customs
assuming you have wire/flux/solder/vice/micro tools
Host kit w/ options
Diode
battery/charger
So just read up on it before buying

they sell parts and mostly hosts here
on the forums people sometimes sell whole lasers for a good price
doug has the best laser
Send me one

Yeah I have a burning laser too.
I should make a thread about it.

Protip: don't even stare at the dot.
Put it in a pringles can full of lenses and a magnifying glass at the top. Laser shotgun.
Also find a way to focus it to about 3 feet and challenge somebody to a knife fight.
Also you could make a laser sight for a gun, but the laser sight is just as deadly.
Laser pointer for your camera.

-Violet glow.
How far away can it be from something and still burn it?
Depends on the spotsize and the absorption due to air. If your beam converges on a scale of 10 km, it will still be "burning".
1 W is quite dangerous. I worked with even more powerfull one (up to 50 W) and I just can say: 5 W focussed to a waist of e.g. 100 µm can burn through 500 µm (0.5 mm) thick steel in about 10 seconds.
You should mend that fence.
Anal insertion.
Do it.
Make like 40 of them, and rig them to a computer and some kind of aiming device so they can all focus on one point at the same time. Super laser.

24 blue diodes

Not focused to a point though

That is amazing. Are those the same wattage as yours do you know? And would several linked together and focused on one point burn through something, ect?
I recall a Mythbusters episode about the Archimedes death ray, but imagine using lasers for a similar effect.
Dayum.

The diodes are extracted from a Casio projector that costs around 700-800$ it has about 24 of them and you can extract that and use all 24 at the same time or strip it and sell each one, mine came off a Casio A-140 from a group buy for 42$
I'm not sure what they run off in the projector, but each can reach higher than 1.5W, the safe is around 600mW for >5000 hours of life
(I think)

I wanna see something burn. Puti t up against some paper.
I was thinking about getting a green 5mW one. I can't imagine the temptation to shine it in somebodies eyes with a 1W

Hmmm, am I correct in assuming that it could be harnessed in some sort of super laser/death ray kind of thing if the power output was upped and focused all on one point?
KILL aLL ANTs WITH YoUR MIGHTY FIRE STICK!!!!
/c
this is the nerdiest thing you ever did craptasket
haha
A+ thread would read again
Don't point it at planes, though you should aim directly into your eyes and you will see the future.
That's pretty cool, but seems like a lot of trouble to go through.
Wow, I wish I could afford one.
Point it at a lock.
see if it breaks.
Damn, don't wanna stick your eye in that thing.
It'll shoot your eye out
