Eh, when I was a little kid I would sometimes have dreams that I was stuck at the bottom of a pool, drowning, with huge weights attached to me. I couldn't get up or swim. I actually felt like I was drowning, and I would wake up sputtering and coughing. Your brain can stimulate various body parts to feel things, I think.
