I mostly just drawn units in-the-match or just use the infection to sneak up on someone and try to kill them, though I mostly just make black blobs 'n shit.
Oh and, they can be harmed in the same way any other unit can, they're more like a really flexible army.

Yes, they pretty much die if they're shot, they don't bleed though but looses bits of themselves instead.
