I had to go without a desktop and without any friends for a month in 2006 and again in 2008. Then I lost a real friend. If you think loosing a laptop is bad try a real life friend. One you will never see again. I have no sympathy for people who take their friends and lives for granted.

Saw the thread title, clicked on it thinking "Someone needs a godamn hug!" scrolled down, saw pictures of a laptop, without pausing my enthusiastic scrolling to get to the ratings clicked on a box. Now i have a surpluss hug to give to someone! :argh:
But still, it's horrible to lose something that's yours, especially if it cost a lot, but mainly if you loved it dearly. I have spent hundreds on my pc, and haven't reformatted in about 4 years (I have ancient shit on here, and i know my pc'll be bloody fast without it but...) and i recently got a virus that detonated my C drives boot sector. That was tense. A word of advice: If your pc suddenly stops and doesn't boot back up, and in safe mode if it gets to the windows loading bar and blue screens, simply get your windows install disk and you'll get an option to reinstall windows, keeping all data on C.
