I'm assuming that your post are meant to be sarcastic, but they aren't funny.
funny
wow.
Okay, I'd rather not answer questions which have been answered in the first post, so I'll make a sarcastic response.
How safe and secure is your site? What kind of security do you guys use?
In relation to what? We use a lot of different security.
Don't do that. If somebody asks you a question about the site, requote the OP or answer it yourself.
How safe and secure is your site? What kind of security do you guys use?
I'm not about to divulge my actual security protocols for obvious reasons, but I will say petty things such as RFI will not work. Once the file is uploaded the actual filename on the server is never revealed, including in the hotlink. Even if someone was to find the directories where the files are uploaded to, the files are of course not saved as their uploaded names, and .htaccess prevents directory listings. Those who wish to search for the directory will be met with false positives as all 404 directories automatically redirect to the homepage, as do actual directories.
And other than those general measures, I don't feel comfortable revealing anything further.

Agreed except for rapidshit. I'm loving the 200 kbps download speeds from all over the country.
Pretty nice
Because the rest of the sites are complicated, have shit download/upload speeds, look fucking nasty as compared to our extremely easy to use and fast site that doesn't look half bad. We have a 1GB limit for each file, that's a lot of fucking space. If you want to upload and get the hotlink for an image it takes 5 clicks, 10 seconds. Easy shit.

Wait for 1000000 users and then tell how fast your connection is :smug:

How did OP get banned already?
Looks pretty nice.

7zip files aren't supported?
I suppose it's pretty decent.

Tis some music.

Not bad at all! Instant upload!
I'm not really sure why RS gets all the hate?
I've always maxed my connection out to it, whether it be 3MB/s tops or 9MB/s tops (Home/work).
Now i only top out at 706kBps though, stupid ADSL crap.
Also jsut out of curiosity does the banner ad cover the cost of the bandwidth?
Not even close. Up to now we've had little to no traffic. I don't want to make the site overbearing with ads, but I'll have to do something to atleast break even.
filefront is better
[editline]02:03AM[/editline]
but i will bookmark just in case if filefront goes down. thank you
Uses my entire upstream bandwidth of 12kbps
This is blazing fast and will probably break the internet
I'm not really sure why RS gets all the hate?
It gets all the hate because of the restrictions it puts on free users and that it's used so much, but people are too poor to get an account, so they just talk shit about it...
Sounds nice
Sounds nice
Exactly, it "sounds" nice. Only "sounds".
Exactly, it "sounds" nice. Only "sounds".
Why.
I like it, it's simple and free.

You don't have a bookmark icon
Why does everyone feel the need to make their own upload site?
I don't even give you a year. There's a reason the big sites are "shit" - and yours will very likely become too big for you to pay very soon.
Change the ugly 'Browse...' button and get rid of that times new roman text and it'll look nicer.
Wait for 1000000 users and then tell how fast your connection is :smug:
We're not waiting for tons of users. This is like an 'indie' site. As you can tell from the first post, we're no business, we're just two guys who made a good service for ourselves and a few others for free.

You sarcastic? That's pretty slow.
You don't have a bookmark icon
Yeah, we need a favicon. I never set one up because I wasn't sure what image I could use or take from the site since I don't have photoshop installed and can't make a decent looking one myself.
use dropbox.
Dropbox is something different, it's a program you can save files onto and vice versa. I'm assuming it's mainly meant for backup. File-Hero's purpose isn't so much backup as it is sharing files easily.

Well first off, we've already been around about 8 months, so I'm sure we can last a year. I'm not sure what's up either, when we made this site I'm guessing there was a unanimous calling to make file-sites, because a lot appeared at that time.
Change the ugly 'Browse...' button and get rid of that times new roman text and it'll look nicer.
I agree with you on the text, got any suggestions? What do you mean by the 'ugly' browse button? It's just a default windows button.
