Basically this means that ISP's will be given the power to have the computers of those they want taken away, removing their online voice. As well as blocking the sites they so choose, and wrecking free information distribution. edit without a warrant of any kind edit also, this EVENTUALLY, or something to the same effect, WILL go in, no matter how much we care.
Who the fuck pirates music these days, it's not worth having all the files on your computer when you can just use Spotify and feel good about yourself that it's legal.
http://www.spotify.com/int/why-not-available/ Not living in a country on this list is a reason.
Who the fuck pirates music these days, it's not worth having all the files on your computer when you can just use Spotify and feel good about yourself that it's legal.
ACTA isn't limited to music.
ACTA isn't limited to music.
Is porn downloaded via Ant (Firefox) considered illegal?
I don't like buying music for one reason, The virtual padlock is so fucking annoying when I want to put it in sony vegas and make some sort of movie. That's my only reason.
It's just a search engine bomber. Pushes it to the top of google trends, et cetera.
Trends are one way to get attention, once it's on top the media (most times) get involved.

We had a thread like this before about 2-3 months ago and the topic was brought up what we should do to stop piracy. ACTA is undeniably harsh, but what else can be done?
When you download something illegally, you steal it. Deal with it. IMO there should be a kind of punishment, but maybe not very harsh.
this is the stupidest thing i heard all day.
I'm more scared about my ISP monitoring whatever I do.
When you download something illegally, you steal it. Deal with it. IMO there should be a kind of punishment, but maybe not very harsh.
No, when you download something illegally, you copy it.

They don't care if you pirate things, in their ideal world they wouldn't be asked to look into what users are doing because it causes them hassle and can lose them customers.
