Soviet Russia was doing well also. However their economy was shit. China took the hint and has free market areas where they'll let you manage you're business as long it follows China's laws.
Yea, you need to combine aspects of socialism with aspects of capitalism to find a sweet spot. "Pure" anything doesn't work too well.

Silly women.
Code Pink is the laughing stock of every major media outlet in the country. They're a bunch of dust-filled cunts that have nothing better to do than start problems.
This is why the only anti-war activist I support is Howard Zinn. Man knows his shit.
Except China still has sub-basic human rights.
That has little to do with their economic stances.
The summery of what Code Pink thinks basically sums up how fucking retarded they are.
I hate how military (worldwide) men and women are fighting so these pricks can have the freedom to do this. It's bullshit, these people should be put away.
ITT: Angsty teenagers deny freedom of speech
ITT: Angsty teenagers deny freedom of speech
It's still a dick move.
Look at what is happening in Iraq right now, we are resented and hated.
Thats what I would take issue with. Its hard to get a real sense of it from the media because they want to report the bad stuff. However talking to soldiers that have been there lets you understand much better. You need to understand the enemy we are fighting, people that would allow women to be stoned to death for reading a book, or listening to music. He told me of how he would move with his unit to help build and construct essential facilities like hospitals, only to come back a week after its completion to find it destroyed by insurgents. The US fights on the frontlines, where I would guess many civilians do resent their presence, but not because of what the US is fighting for but for the nature of the war and its price on their lives. Alot happens behind the frontlines where there is less intense fighting. The many other countries involved in the war conduct security and construction of facilities. I imagine some of the Iraqi people living in these areas are grateful of their presence. Unfortunately, this war is incredibly hard to win due to the guerilla warfare employed by the enemy. Maybe we will have to pull out. The intervention was probably conducted to heavy handedly, but I think fighting people who try to destroy the basic human rights of other people and sabotage childrens minds (to ensure a next generation of their twisted morality) is an appropriate response to people who display intentions to aggresively spread their beliefs to other people.
What really bugs me is that the media in general seems to care a lot less about the war now. Most things I see on the news are now about celebrities od'ing, Tiger Woods, some environmental issue, or some other stupid shit that I really don't care about. DID MONA LISA REALLY HAVE HIGH CHOLESTROL?

They're siding with Obama, generally; you can't deny that.
It's because Bush isn't president. They only liked to rag on him. They're siding with Obama, generally; you can't deny that.
Yeah I agree. Bush wasn't a good president but I think his treatment by the media was harsh. So many people say "Bush is such an idiot.", and then you ask "why?". I'm not implying Bush doesn't have a few loose bolts, but many people don't even know why they hate someone or something. They just spew out what the media handed to them. It just shows you how strong the media is, and how ruthless it is. The moment it turns on a target that target has lost with the public. Even the president can't escape it. And to the above I agree. Theres nothing wrong with indulging in a little bit of air-head news every now and again, but people should pursue news and try to understand large topics before making such big decisions about them. The war in Iraq is a good example. The majority of people will say it is horrible and bad and that we should pull out, without being able to make a proper discussion. Both sides of the argument have very intelligent points, but in the middle lay people who just take one side without knowing what they are talking about.
I am in agreement for the most part but honestly, it really wasn't hard to find a reason to despise G. W. Bush. Or in fact a plethora of reasons.
