I thought most people knew it, but it's certainly handy. Good job for posting it :)
Could also make removing long lines text easier too... If you're too lazy to shift+home.
This is pretty useful thanks!
Holy shit! You can use Shift-Backspace to delete one character at a time! This will save keystrokes for sure
this is fucking awesome! also, i just discovered that by pressing CTRL+#, it changes the tabs for you! two things in one thread!
You sir cannot count. There's been many more posted. [editline]05:23PM[/editline]
Holy shit! You can use Shift-Backspace to delete one character at a time!
Please for the love of god tell me you're kidding.
Kidding?! You tell me a more efficient way to delete one character at a time! I bet you can't!
Could also make removing long lines text easier too... If you're too lazy to shift+home.
I always find it easier to ctrl+A and backspace, but then again I proofread a lot and I don't need to erase anything unless it's a typo, or the whole thing.
I'm really surprised that none of you knew this.
This is amazing. I am now owe you my peanuts.
How on earth did any of us not know this... Thank you OP. You made my day.
Hitting ALT+F4 on the desktop brings up the "Shut down?" menu. Also, on most intel graphics chipsets, you can press CTRL + ALT + down arrow to flip your screen upside-down.
Behold the great power! You're writing a comment/message/anything else and suddenly you realize you need to delete the last word for some reason. So the first thing that comes to your mind is holding backspace while trying not to delete any other important text... Alternatively you can press backspace many times and delete each letter of the word separately. NO MORE!!!!!! You can save your precious energy by simply pressing CTRL+backspace! Isn't it fucking awesome?! Man, I should get a Nobel for that or something! edit: Great discovery number 2: Holy freaking shit, when you CTRL+backspace the url in the navigation bar of your browser you can remove special parts from it. On this thread's url: you can remove the thread id, and then the parameters and etc...

One of the most useful keyboard shortcuts I learned is Shift-Tab to go backwards. Learned it from watching a secretary in highschool typing while I was calling home sick. Don't know why it never occurred to me. Ctrl-Shift-Esc opens Task Manager directly.
Or you could just use the old fashioned Ctrl+Alt+Del
